DATA ANALYSIS AND THE STATISTICAL FOUNDATIONS OF GEOMATICS Chania, Crete, Greece, May 25-30, 1998 Objective: The school aims at bringing together young scientists from the areas of Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, GIS and Geophysics, exposing them to the various statistical methods used in data analysis in different fields, as well as demonstrating the common theoretical background and providing a vehicle for possible exchange of ideas. The School is motivated by the interests of Subcommission 1 "Statistics" (Chairman: A. Dermanis) of the IAG Special Commission on "Mathematical and Physical Foundations of Geodesy" (Chairman: Erik Grafarend). International flights arrive at the Eastern Terminal of the Athens Airport, while domestic flights (as well as international flights of Olympic Airways) use the Western Terminal. The Chania airport is connected by bus to the downtown area (14km). >From Thessaloniki to Chania (2 days of the week).
