The Grover Township Fire Auxiliary was formed to help support the firefighters and the Board of Commissioners, by purchasing equipment and other items needed by the department. Their goal is to have the equipment needed to help the department reach their goal of lowering the departments ISO rating.
Currently there are approximately twenty members of the auxiliary. In 1997 your donations to the auxiliary helped to purchase 6 stored-voice pagers and the successful payoff of the Auxiliary's 1996 commitment of $10,000 for the Compressed Air Foam System. Also, the Auxiliary is contributing the $2,000 earned from the July 4th rummage / bake sale and the October Pig Roast to the purchase of the new tanker and has pledged $5,000 (almost half the cost) for the purchase of a high-volume drafting pump. The tanker and pump will be important assets to the Department in its drive to lower our ISO rating from 7 down to 5.
In addition to plans for an open house, the July 4th rummage/ bake sale, and the Pig Roast in October; the Auxiliary is currently gathering recipies for a cookbook as a fundraiser for the District.
