I recently had the opportunity to interview my favorite lady wrestler, Alexis DeVine. Sorry guys, there's nothing perverted here, just some questions about wrestling and other stuff. By the way, I was fortunate enough to accompany her to Mount Pleasant, Texas, on Saturday, September 2, 2000, as she wrestled against Catt on a Superstars of Wrestling show. She was still feeling the effects of hitting her head on the floor the night before in a match against Ms. Venom on an NWA Southwest show, but she made it through and won the match with her DeVine Smack, a variation of X-Pac's X-Factor. Alexis defeated Catt the same way. So, without any further ado, here's what "The Dallas Diva" had to say.

********************

ROB: You've been wrestling for a little over a year now; how has the experience been so far?

ALEXIS: It's been great and painful…

Have you actively sought advice from the veterans in the locker room, especially on the SSOW shows?

All the time. I'm always getting advice from General Akbar and the wrestlers he brings into his shows. I think the best was when Mick Foley watched the match between Miss Venom and myself and told us it was a good match. Gotta believe we were both walking on cloud nine.

Who would you say have been the most helpful?

Without a doubt, General Skandar Akbar.

You've wrestled some of the top competitors in Texas women's wrestling. Does any one of them stand out as being the most troublesome, the most difficult to outwrestle in the ring?

Yeah, Miss Venom. She's one tough wrestler. She's ring-smart and knows what it takes to kick a little butt. It's just unfortunate that it's usually mine…

If you had to choose one of them as a tag-team partner, whom would you pick?

Miss Venom. She's the toughest to pin. But … I've done it.

How have the fans been treating you as you travel around?

The fans have been great. I enjoy meeting and talking with them. Especially the ones with a sense of humor. I love the fans that come up to me with a smile on their faces. Those are the ones that you know are having a great time, and that's what it's all about…isn't it?

According to your schedule, you're going beyond the Texas borders to Colorado and Louisiana. How excited are you about making those road trips?

I'm totally stoked!! Who wouldn't be?

What are your plans for the future in wrestling? How long do you see yourself staying in the ring?

Well, I really don't share the "I want to go to the WWF, WCW or ECW" dream that the other wrestlers have. I'm only in it to have fun, kick butt and get out of the house on the weekends. I'm going to continue wrestling as long as I'm getting booked somewhere.

Could a dog person and a cat person really get along?

Nope. Cats are known as "doggie dental floss." (NOTE FROM ROB: Doggie dental floss? Them's fightin' words, ma'am.....)

And, finally, is there anything special you would like to say to your friends and fans?

Depends on what you mean by "special"…*wink*wink*
