Fellowship Activities for 2002
Ladies Night Out Dinner Group
Our selection for October is Cities Bar and Grill located at 2438 Stratford Road. Meet us on Thursday, October 10th, at 6:30pm. Cities advertises as "Best Atmosphere and Taste of Quality", a little chichi is a good thing. Call Ruth Oregar at 945-6177 for reservations or rides.
Supper Groups
It’s time to organize the monthly supper groups to begin in October. Again this year, there will be "eat- out" groups who go once a month to a restaurant, and "eat-in" group who dine in the homes of group members.
Our supper groups have been popular and enjoyed by those who have participated. Sandy and Robert Barrett will organize the "eat-out" groups and Claudette and bill Honeycutt will organize the "eat-in" groups.
Look for further information and sign-up sheets in your mailboxes soon. "Bon Appetit!"
Looking Ahead

Fall Festival Update
Saturday, November 9th
is fast approaching and Fall Festival plans are well on their way. If you have not volunteered to contribute to the day’s activities, there is still time to help with Shallowford’s main fund raiser for service, mission, and benevolence groups. Please complete the Fall Festival opportunity form as soon as possible. We need people to work at the different tables during the day. Help is also needed with decorating and setting up and taking down the tables.
Several new things have been added this year to help draw more people. We are asking for Used Books -- in good shape for sale, Plants -- perennials or house plants, and items for a Silent Auction, which is any unique (a flight to the beach for breakfast?) or beautiful gift (art work, quilts, fun glass or wood craft?) you may wish to contribute. The ladies with the special imported gifts will also be on hand once again.
And then -- there is the food! Steve Stone has promised a large bowl of his famous Chili and we will once again offer Clam Chowder, Hot Dogs, Chips, Drinks and Baked Goods-- by the piece, slice, or the WHOLE thing.
Crafters will once again have the opportunity to gather together to work on items on October 6th and October 27th right after church with lunch provided.
All church members will be given postcards in late October to mail or hand out to friends advertising our November 9th Fall Festival. Please start making a list of people you can invite. If you have some flamingo fanatic friends let them know we are selling flamingo "must have" items.
Children’s activities are highlighted in the additional story on page 3. We have many things planned for the kids too!
Please plan to participate in some way; sharing your time and talent is important to us all.
