Conyers Family Association

A family club for all Conyers family descendants

Founded 1979

Welcome to the Conyers family home page, sponsored by the Conyers Family National Association, a national, non-profit family club for all descendants of the Conyers family. If you are a Conyers or descendant of a Conyers, this is YOUR family club and your homepage. This family traces its origins back to the Norman conquest of England in 1066 AD. In America, this Southern family first came from England to Virginia in the early 1600's; other relatives followed in later times. They were among the earliest pioneers in America. Our family has since spread all over the nation.

Family History

The most important purpose of the family club is to gather and preserve our family history in our Conyers Family National Library. We are collecting copies of every type of record available, both public and private. We are working on a history section and hope to add some basic information to help you. The family historian is Robert Earl Woodham, a descendant of the Conyers family who settled in South Carolina and of a branch which moved to Seminole County, Georgia. Click on "HISTORY" in the INDEX below.

Family Newsletter

The site includes an online family newsletter. It will contain current news about Conyers relatives, obituaries of deaths in the family, wedding notices, engagement and anniversary announcements, births, school news and much more. Click on "NEWS" in the INDEX below.

Queries

If you are looking for Conyers ancestors, you can post a message/query in the queries section to help you find others who might be able to help you with more information and records. Click on "QUERIES" in the INDEX below.

If you are a Conyers or descendant of a Conyers, you are invited to join and support YOUR family club.

Conyers Family National Library

You are urged to send us information and copies of records on your immediate family to preserve in the Family Library. We are trying to gather copies of every type of public document and private records, including copies of marriage records, deeds, old letters, wills, US and state census records, obituaries, newspaper articles, family Bible records , estate and court records, birth and death certificates, military records, wedding and engagement notices, school records, old tax and voter's lists, cemetery tombstone inscriptions and more.

PLEASE, make xerox copies of the family information in your Bible, obituaries of Conyers relatives, wedding notices, military discharge papers, birth and death certificates and other types of family records you have and send these to us to preserve in the Family Library. Take time to record all the birth dates, marriages and deaths in your immediate family. Record the memories of the oldest relatives you know so these can be preserved for future generations.

Our Family Library will be donated to the Georgia State Archives upon the death of our historian. This is the largest and most modern state archives in the South and centrally located for the majority of our family.

Join and support YOUR family club !

The Conyers Family Association is a family club and as such, depends entirely upon our relatives for its support. Without you, there can be no family club nor the projects we sponsor such as this family website and our family newsletter. It takes members to have a family club. Your membership helps support more family research to purchase family records from state and local libraries, county courthouses, etc.; office supplies, notebooks and postage among other items and hopefully, a future printed edition of our family newsletter. You are urged to join and support YOUR family club.

Our Purpose and Goals

Your membership in the family club is very important to keep it alive and successful.
Without your support, a lot of family projects such as our Family Library and this family website won't be possible.
Join us and help make this dream a reality. Send your membership dues to the address below.

Annual membership dues: $15
