I don't really like biographies. I never know what to say, and this one here is no exception. What does it matter the person behind the words, before the words are even read? If no one likes it, whoever I am doesn’t matter a bit. If someone does like it, he or she will search around and will eventually find it out.

Anyway, here it goes: I’m a writer by profession and compulsion, and a translator by sheer need of survival. I study and research about esoteric and exoteric religions; I keep in touch via email with hundreds of people around the World, but seldom have any real contact with anyone. I live in São Paulo, Brasil, with two of my five children, in a quiet and retired community, away from any social or cultural activity.

I’m one hundred percent bilingual, with a fluent Spanish and a crooked French. My general knowledge of several other languages goes from poor to poorer – enough for reading a book in its original language, but not enough for keeping a decent conversation, or writing a text.

It was only in 1998 that I dared to write in Portuguese once again, since I had forgotten my mother tongue, and had to study very hard in order to be able to write without slaughtering the language.

Apart from that, I’m better on Prose than Poetry, but by an ironic Fate I’m better known by the latter, not the first.
