I believe I have been a poet since the moment of my birth; I was only unable to write at that time, therefore, I couldn't register my poems in paper. But that does not mean I didn't make them. I just made them in my way, using my senses.

II was born in Rio de Janeiro, more precisely in the area of Tijuca. Nowadays I live in Vila Isabel, a lively neighborhood. I'm a medical doctor, married, mother of three children. For me, poetry is one kind of perception of life itself, including the pleasure, pain, the passion of living.

II am not sure of when poetry began to mark my life, but I remember precisely of winning my first text contest, at my old school, in 1968 and of my portuguese teacher - Tânia Rodrigues - giving me the first prize - a pocket edition of a book of Machado de Assis - "Helena".

IFrom that point on I didn't stop writing.

IMedicine, though, ocuppied all my time, and with marriage, kids and both professional and domestic duties, I ended up with no free time, thus, I gave up on poetry. Time passed and I felt something on me was not right; I felt empty on the inside. At last, with the use of internet, in the beginning of 1998, I had access to some poetry forums and a strong will of writing began to boil inside of me, and it became stronger and frequent.

IIn 1999, I was already part of an antology - "Novos Talentos Da Literatura Nacional ( New Talents of National Literature) by the virtual publisher "Ponto de Vista".

IIn july of 2000, I finally published my first book: "Enfim, Renasci!" (Finaly Reborn!), a gathering of 135 poems, in 238 pages, by Impetus publishing.

II took part on many poetry contests, even winning some prizes, as in "Mar & Amor" (Sea & Love) contest. I had 3 poems, all between the fourth and sixteenth place; the EROS (erotic poetry contest), of PD Literature gaining second and third places in popular voting (both on 2000\2001), and also some prizes from a contest of the Rio de Janeiro's City Hall.

IThere are already 3 antologies ,on which I took part, being edited, and are expected to be published this semester: one with the finalists of the EROS contest, one with the finalists of the Mar & Amor contest and one of the "Cantinho do poeta" (Poet's corner).
