Philo, the Explorer, wants to tell the story about the discovery of Brazil from a modern, simple and entertaining point of view. The writer makes the child find her way around, building her own individuality. The book is part of the official calendar of the festivities for the 500 years of the Discovery of Brazil."
"Mommy, mommy!" screamed Philo in her nest.
Her mother already knew, by her daughter’s relentlessness and tone of voice that it meant trouble.
"Mommy!..."
She ran over her mother who was calmly walking down the nest’s corridors. "Calm down, lady! Can’t you see what you’re doing? Had I not held my pace, you would have hurt me!"
"Sorry, mother. But I have an incredible request to make and I can’t wait one minute longer!"
"But what is it so important?"
"Mother, can I go on an expedition?"
"What?!"
"Yes, an expedition. A party will leave at dawn tomorrow, to look for new lands on the other side of the world.
"What do you mean?! Have you gone mad?!"
"But, mother, all my friends are going, I can’t stay behind.
"No way, miss! Don’t you know how dangerous this is?"
"You know what I will do? I will speak to Daddy.
"But... darling!..."
