Mariana Brasil is the nom de plume chosen by Sonia. She was born in 1966, in Paraná - Brazil. A scholarship gave her the opportunity of attending the first eight years of school at an acclaimed Catholic institution.
A teenager, with her dreams, her journal, and her Italian-descendant family, she moved to São Paulo. On her journal, she used to write down her findings and her most profound emotions.
After secondary school and vocational courses, she followed a stage-acting career, until the day God gave her the gift of maternity.
In 1990, she went to Italy to be graduated by the school of life. Her experiences were always recorded on her dear and faithful friend, the "journal". And, one day, it became the "Manuscrito de Sonia" (Sonia's Manuscript) and was author Paulo Coelho's inspiration, when writing his book "Eleven Minutes". Generating controversy, she published her answer in "Entre as Fronteiras", in September 2003, in Brazil.
She represents REBRA - Rede de Escritoras Brasileiras (Brazilian She-Writers Net), in Italy.
She attended theater courses given by famous teachers in Italy.
Presently, she lives in Italy, where she attends a course on creative writing. She attends her family, writes, and takes care of her book's issue and publicity, in Europe. She expects this book to be an "alert" and its success to bring hope. To be recognized in Brazil and abroad as a writer is deeply gratifying to her. It assures her that nothing is impossible in life, you just need to believe in it, to fight for it, and to remain constant to it. You must never give up or refuse to learn new things, to "love", and, inevitably, we must not forget the good things we have learnt.
