Silvia Regina Pellegrino was the second daughter of Antonio Pellegrino and Edith Bodstein Pellegrino, born in the city of Rio Brilhante, in Mato Grosso do Sul. She had a happy childhood until she was ten to eleven years old, when her father died. Her mother took her five children to the countryside of Paraná, where Sylvia finished primary school and entered junior high school. When she entered the Normal School, she started writing poetry, which have never been published until now, in a way to express her overwhelming feelings.

In 1969, she got married for the first time and became a widow in 1974. From her marriage she has got her only son Mauricio Antonio Pellegrino Adamowski. She moved to Curitiba, where she entered Law School in the Pontific Catholic University of Paraná and graduated in 1979. She taught "Institutions of Public Law" and Labor Law in the Social Studies Foundation of Paraná and at the same time she worked as a clerk in the Central Bank of Brazil, when she got married to Paulo Roberto Freitas da Rocha.

Later, she was commissioned as a Prosecutor in the Central Bank and for many years she worked as a lawyer until she retired in 1996, when she started to dedicate herself to her highest dream: to become a writer.

"The Priestess," her first book, was published at first in December, 1998, by her own means, which released 3.000 copies in the first edition and sold out in March, 1999. As she had little means to publish it again, she asked her colleague and publisher José Ernani de Carvalho Pacheco, from Juruá Publishing House, to take a look at it and submitted her book to his opinion and to his staff's consideration.

A short time afterwards, she signed a publishing contract for "The Priestess" and all the following novels she shall be writing for Juruá Publishing House.

Her novel "The Priestess" had its second edition released on October 1, 1999.
