The application must be postmarked on or before May 31, 2004 to be considered for the 2003-2004 Academic Achievement Award.

The Academic Achievement Awards Program is designed to provide Fort Monmouth Area Chapter Members and their dependents an opportunity to compete for Chapter funds which enhances NCMA’s educational goals by helping students obtain education in skills and disciplines supporting contract management, business, and related courses of study. The National Contract Management Association Fort Monmouth Area Chapter’s Academic Achievement Awards Program eligibility criteria includes the entire Fort Monmouth Community (i.e., Military and Civilian employees of Government Agencies located at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey).

In order to be eligible to compete for this scholarship, a candidate must meet the following basic criteria:

  1. Candidate must be accepted/enrolled in a degree or certificate program in a federal government or accredited private or public university.
  2. Candidate must be an NCMA Fort Monmouth Area Chapter member, associate member, or
  3. Candidate must be a full or part-time student that is a dependent of an NCMA Fort Monmouth Area Chapter member or associate member, or
  4. Candidate must be a military or civilian employee of a Government Agency located at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
  5. Past Fort Monmouth Academic Achievement Award recipients are not eligible.

Candidates for the 2003-2004 Academic Achievement Awards Program must submit the attached Application (postmarked on or before May 31, 2004) and include the following:

  1. Essay on Educational and Career Goals. The essay must be 800-1200 words, typed and double-spaced, describing the candidates educational and career goals.
  2. Letters of Reference. Candidate must submit three letters of reference from individuals that know the candidate or can attest to the candidate’s academic abilities.
  3. 3. Transcripts of past coursework. This includes copies of high school or college transcripts, cumulative Grade Point Average in coursework related to contract management, business, or related courses of study.

The following will be considered in evaluating each application:

  1. The appropriateness of the essay; its organization, logical development; clarity of presentation, and originality. (55 Points)
  2. The source and content of the Letters of Recommendation. (35 Points)
  3. The cumulative Grade Point Average. (10 Points)
