The Massachusetts Mollica's Family Reunion

July 2-5, 1999

Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, USA

Mark and Kim Mollica hosted our 1999 reunion at their house in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire [picture at the right]. The weather was a sweltering 102 degrees...the beer was cold...and the ocean was freezing!

More than just having our annual reunion, we also celebrated Phil Mollica's engagement to his long-time sweetheart Sara...Dorie Mollica's birthday (July 1st)...Marcia (Mollica) de Sousa's birthday (July 4th)...and Rick Mollica's up-and-coming 50th birthday....

July 2: We began gathering at Mark and Kim's house at Hampton Beach. Mark sent a beautiful white stretch limousine to pick up the Maryland Mollicas at the airport, and then he provided us with a Lincoln Town Car for the vacation so we wouldn't have to rent a car! Most of us had hotel rooms within walking distance of Mark and Kim's, so we checked into our rooms and then headed to the Boardwalk for some food at Mama Leone's. And we took the kids to the game arcades - the same ones we used to visit as kids in the '50s and '60s. [That's Jimmy de Sousa, Marcia and Dave's son, enjoying a cool brewski.]

July 3: I had been craving fried clams ever since we got there and I got them at Captain Newick's in Hampton...best darn fried clams I've ever eaten! And Joey said the same about the fried shrimp he ordered. New England's seafood is the best! We also had a great dinner at I-forget-the-name-of- the-place in North Hampton. This is where everyone embarrassed poor old Rick by conducting a typical Mollica 50th birthday ceremony (even though my birthday isn't until August!). We finished the evening telling stories around a bonfire on the beach.

July 4: We had an incredibly good clambake at Mark's house...clam chowder...lobster...steak...corn on the cob...potato salad...and strawberry shortcake. Out of this world! We watched the fireworks from Mark and Kim's beach as we sat around a bonfire, and held a birthday celebration on the deck for Dorie and Marcia.

July 5: Big breakfast at Kennedy's and then...the goodbyes.

Donna Mollica kept reminding us to take a group picture, but somehow we didn't! Here are some pictures that might to capture some of the fun we had over the long weekend.
