NEWS FLASH for DNS/DHCP Users
I have created a Beginners Guide to DNS/DHCP that can be purchased/downloaded from

Novell's NNTP based forums can be found at http://support.novell.com/forums/. You will be able to access the forums with any NNTP news reader. Note that to use an NNTP news reader (either on- or off-line, the address is news://forums.novell.com). An excellent off-line news reader is Virtual Access, from http://www.soft-shop.com, or the newsgroup reader (Collabra) within Netscape Communicator works quite well. Should you be using Virtual Access to read the forums, you can download rva.zip to reload the database without losing old messages (in the event of database problems).
If you are unable to access NNTP based forums due to company firewalls blocking port 119, Novell now has a web based interface that you can access through http://novell.remarq.com/novell/home.asp.

Steve Meyer has written several very handy NLM's for monitoring Novell Intranetware Networks, and is also a Sysop for the Novell Support Connection on Compuserve. Using his NCONSOLE NLM, I was able to increase throughput on my network by 12%. Simply a must have! Another nice feature of Avanti-tech is that they provide pages and pages of information on troubleshooting ABENDs.

Dr. Peter Kuo, who has an impressive list of credentials too numerous to list here, has created The NDS ToolKit, and is one of the Sysops for the Novell Support Connection on Compuserve. He is also the author of NetWare Web Development, which will take you step-by-step thru setting up your own inter- or intra-net web server! The NDS ToolKit is a collection of NLMs and DOS-based utilities. These tools are designed to assist you in managing your NDS and NetWare 4.1x network more easily and effectively, and to assist your users inaccessing your network more easily.

Yet another valuable resource is http://www.caledonia.net, authored by GroupWise SysOp Danita Zanre and her husband Joe Zanre. Danita is a co-author of the book GroupWise Administrator's Guide along with SysOps Richard Beels and Scott Kunau. Between them, they know anything you ever wanted to know about GroupWise! Danita is a GENIUS with GroupWise, and I owe her many thanks for helping me setup my GroupWise system.
