Aftermarket Exhaust System Upgrade

After deciding that one of my factory catalytic convertors was partially clogged, I made the decision to let Kinney's Muffler Shop in Bedford, TX take over the task of getting rid of the dual cat setup and replacing the rusted out muffler.  Included was an upgrade to 2-1/2" pipe all the way back.  Everything is tucked up higher than the frame so no more cat-bashing on rocks.  I had to use the actual Toyota stock rubber hangers in order to keep the exhaust from coupling with the frame.  None of the aftermarket hangers seemed to perform as well as the original Toyota hangers.

I was quite pleased with the results, though the muffler may be a touch louder than a lot of 80 series Cruiser drivers would like.  I, however, like hearing the throaty rumble... maybe I'll grow out of it... someday.

The parts:

Single Catco Catalytic Convertor #9513  - dual inlet / single outlet

Dyno-Max Turbo Muffler #17741
