The Zirckel-Hirtzel Connection

FIRST GENERATION

1. Conrad (Konrad) Zirckel1 was born about 1600 in Hamback, Palatinate,
Germany. May have died and been buried in Palatinate, Germany. Betty
Zirkle says "Conrad Zurckel, born about 1600, was a Chaplain in Hambach
in the Country of Solms Braunfels (Palantinate).".

He was married to Barbara in Reihen, Baden, Germany. Conrad (Konrad)
Zirckel and Barbara had the following children:

SECOND GENERATION

2. Johann Lofonius ZIRCKEL1,2,1 was born in 1650 in Hamback Solms
Braunre Co., Germany. He died after 1686 in Babstadt, Baden, Germany.
Middle name also spelled LEVENIUS/LOFENIUS/Confenius. Baden is in the
Palatinate section of Germany. Occupation: Farrier (blacksmity).

He was married to Katherina HIRTZEL (daughter of Hans Heinrich HIRTZEL
and Maria Steiner) on 23 Jan 1672 in Reihen, Palatinate, Germany.
Katherina HIRTZEL1,3,4 was born in 1647 in Aubikon, Pfeffikon,
Switzerland. She was christened on 5 Mar 1648 in Aubikon, Pfeffikon
parrish, Switzerland. She died on 6 Oct 1683 in Kirchardt, Palatinate,
Germany. Godparents were Hans Jugli Stutz from Bussenhusen. Johann
Lofonius ZIRCKEL and Katherina HIRTZEL had the following children:

5. Heinrich ZIRKELL1 was born on 10 Nov 1676 in Kirchardt, Palatinate,
Germany. He died in 1748 in Franconia Twp., Mongomery Co., PA. He was
buried in Evangilly Luther, Franconia Twp, PA. Came to the U.S. in 1725
- maybe to Philadelphia, PA. Betty Zirkle says the name is Johann
Heinrich born 9/10/1676. Born Kirchardt, Heidelberg, Baden. Paid quit
rent priort to 1734 on 50 acres in Franconia township.

Heinrich ZIRKELL and Eva Euphrosine RESIN had the following children:

Ittlingen, Germany.
10 ii. Eva Margretha ZIRKELL1 was born on 20 Jan 1703
in Ittlingen, Germany.

FOURTH GENERATION

11. Johann Lodowich (Ludwig) Zirkle1 was born on 9 Oct 1705 in
Ittlingen, Baden, Germany. He died about Jan 1747 in Telford,
Pennsylvania. He was buried in Indian Fields Lutheran Churchyard,
Philadelphia, PA. Twin of Anne Mary. To American 1725 on Brittannia
and located in PA. Some information confirmed 10/23/94 by Ron Cline who
looked it up in ZIRKLE FAMILY HISTORY by J. William Harpine 1963. Book
as Lodowick's last will and testament, etc. Lived for many years in
Forestville, Shenandoah County, Va.

He was married to Maria Eva BEAR about 1732 in Telford, PA. Maria Eva
BEAR1 was born about 1709 in Europe, came to Amer. in 1725. She died in
1771 in Forestville, New Market, VA 1776?. She was buried in
Forestville Cemetery, Shenandoah Co., VA. Children's last names
Zerckel, Zirckel, and Zirckle.

Maria Zirkel m.c. 1748 to a Chriss Ottinger in Montgomery Co., PA. By
1750 he was deceased and by 1755 Maria was in Rockingham Co., VA with
some of her children Johann Lodowich (Ludwig) Zirkle and Maria Eva BEAR
had the following children:

+15 i. Catherine ZIRCKLE.
16 ii. Michael Zerkel or ZIRKLE1 was born on 29 Jan
1735 in Telford, Franconia Twp, PA. He was baptized in 1755. He died
on 2 Oct 1811 in Forestville, Shenandoah Co., VA. He was buried in
Nease/Zirkle graveyard, Forestville, Va. May have lived in the
Forestville, Holman Creek, VA area. One source says he is possibly
buried in Rockingham Co., VA.
17 iii. Margaret ZIRCKLE5,1 was born on 6 Mar 1736 in
Pennsylvania. She was baptized in 1755. She died in 1796 in New
Market, Shenandoah Co., VA. According to the register of Indianfield
Lutheran Church in Franconia Twp., Montgomery Co., PA, Michael and
Margaret were married March 6, 1753. They were the parents of 9
children.

18 iv. Andrew Zirckel or ZIRCKLE1 was born in 1737 in
Telford, Montgomery Co., PA. He died in 1816 in Forestville, Shenandoah
Co., VA. He was buried in Forestville, Shenandoah Co., VA. He was
baptized in Forestville, Shenandoah Co., VA. Betty Zirkle says birth
date is 1727.

20 vi. Lewis (Ludwig) ZIRKLE1 was born in 1740 in
Telford, Montgomery Co., PA. He was baptized in 1755 in New Market,
Shenandoah Co., VA. He died on 22 Jan 1815 in New Market, Shenandoah
Co., VA. Born 1736-1740. Married 1764 - 1768. Born in Pennsylvania?

19. George Adam Zirckel or ZIRCKLE1 was born about 1738 in Telford,
Montgomery Co, PA. He died on 6 Nov 1800 in Forrestville, Shenandoah
Co., VA. He was buried in Family Farm, Forrestville, VA. Lived in
Manora Mill, Shenandoah River area of VA. Betty Zirkle says George was
born in Telford, PA. Moved to Augusta Co., VA 1753

21. Peter Circle ZIRCKLE1 was born in 1741 in Telford, Montgomery Co.,
PA. He died in 1818 in Botetourt Co., VA. He was baptized in Smith
Creek, New Mkt, Shen, VA.

He was married to Fanny Irene MYER in 1784 in Betetourt Co., VA.
