A very solid MMA event. This was King of the Cage's first venture into PPV and it was definitly a show to be proud of. Not a single one of the nine fights went the distance. Javier Vazquez shows why he is one of the best 155 pounders in the world. A main event with a little bit of contraversy. Pride veterans Quinton Jackson and Akira Shoji. And two rising stars in Phillip Miller and Joey Villasenor
. 9 matches in all. An excellent DVD that will be well worth your time. Exciting fights.

This was another great DVD in this great series KOTC. KOTC introduces many young mma grapplers to the general public. for me, the standout from this release was Eric Pele. he is trained by John Lewis. Pele is a 300lb monster with some great skills in the cage. Fast hands and able to go a few rounds. He is going to be real dangerous if he keeps dropping weight. rest of DVD is loaded with great fights. As usual Don Frye was invloved in something. check it out, well worth the $

I seen this event take place live and when I left the fight I said to myself I have to own that movie, I have to watch Pete Willaims fight again. This movie is basically awesome on it's pwn, but if your a Lion's Den fan this movie is as good as it gets. It does have some matches that go to judges but is also has some submissions and Knockouts. It is a solid movie.

Reviewer: A viewer from New Jersey This is a great NHB/MMA video featuring 2 hours of nonstop action. The event takes place outdoors and is hosted by Don Wilson & Eddie Bravo (who does a good job on commentary). Lots of up and coming fighters are featured as well as a main event that pits Todd Medina against PRIDE star Daijiro Matsui. The production values on the video are great, and Ken Shamrock even makes a special appearance as a guest commentator. NHB fans should check it out.

Reviewer: Matthew McPherson from Landisburg, PA United States This fifth installment of the KotC series of mixed martial arts action continues to improve. Unfortunately, this time, there are no guest celebrity commentators, leaving Don Wilson and Eddie Bravo to their own devices, not that that's necessarily a bad thing. There are about twelve fights, including a fascinating bout between Dean Lister and John Jensen where not a single strike is thrown. Instead, the fight is a fast and technical bout where the athletes trade submission attempts. Other great fights include Jerry Bohlander's return to MMA in a bloody battle against Brian Foster, and Chris Brennan's title defense against Joe Hurley, a young Lion's Den fighter. Good action overall, with plenty of knockouts, tapouts, and hard-won decisions.

With great MMA action, it's a must to own!, May 8, 2001 Reviewer: cracker_jack from Jonquiere, Quebec Canada

It was the first time I saw a King of the Cage event, but I had seen many great comments about it. So when it arrived, I expected a lot... and I wasn't disappointed! This event is full of young names, not very well known (yet) but really promising fighters! And what can I say, I love a good finish, and this one has plenty of great endings: submissions (may I just mention Stepp's armbar), KO's, ref stoppages. There are some judges decisions, but they are inevitable, and even then the figths are action-packed, with not much stalling and good technique. I sincerely recommend you to buy this DVD, it's a must for any mixed martial arts fan! Ohh, and don't miss Medina head-butting (an accident?) Wallid Ismael...

Reviewer: Matthew McPherson from Landisburg, PA United States 'King of the Cage: Desert Storm' builds on the first installment to bring an even better show. UFC fighters John Matua and Travis 'the Ironman' Fulton are on the card, as is Pride fighter Ricco Rodriguez. This time through, there are commentators who really know what they're talking about. (About time, huh? No more gibbering idiots to distract you from MMA excitement.) Other than Don Wilson, Mark Kerr, Ken Shamrock, and Gary Goodridge commentate. This little show is setting standards for the entire MMA industry.
