Old Faithful against the Sunrise

Ranger Led Activities

Try to take advantage of at least one of the Ranger led activities while you are in the park. Ranger led activities are informative, interesting and FUN. They are also included in your entrance fee.

Ranger led activities, in general, are offered in the summer from June through August with a few holding over until September. Look in a copy of Discover Yellowstone or ask at a visitor center for scheduled activities. Activities include campfire programs, talks and walks. They are, for the most part, offered at:

Each area presents a unique set of programs high-lighting natural and cultural resource themes related to that area.

In the summer, campfire programs are offered each evening at Canyon Campgrounds Amphitheater, Bridge Bay Campgrounds Amphitheater, Grant Village Amphitheater, Fishing Bridge Visitors Center Amphitheater, Madison Campgrounds Amphitheater, Mammoth Campgrounds Amphitheater and Old Faithful Visitors Center Auditorium. The topic of the program changes nightly at each location.

Walks and talks are offered numerous times throughout the day at Mammoth, Old Faithful, Canyon, Grant Village, Fishing Bridge/Lake Area and Norris. Other special interest walks are offered less frequently.

With little effort, you should be able to find a ranger led activity that will fit your schedule and interests.
