Some of the trails in the Upper Geyser Basin (Old Faithful) are open to bikes. These trails are mainly along old road beds and cover about 5 miles. A word of caution: to see most of the features in the Upper Geyser Basin you will have to get off, lock your bike and walk the boardwalks. For the first time through the basin I suggest walking as the bike will become a nuisance.
A nice bike trail is out to Lone Star geyser (3 miles). The trailhead is just above Kepler Cascades. This is a very nice, level, ride along an old road bed that parallels the Firehole river. Lone Star Geyser erupts every three hours. If you see an eruption please write the time in the book at the geyser so that the next group can have an idea of when it might next erupt.
