A Little Perspective
On FoxNews yesterday, James Zogby of the Arab American Institute was asked
by pundit Fred Barnes about Osama bin Laden's form of Islam. Does bin Laden
and the Taliban, asked Barnes, represent the core of the Muslim belief
system, or some bastardization of the religion? Putting things in
perspective, Zogby responded that bin Laden no more represents the Muslim
religion and its adherents than did David Koresh and the Branch Davidians
represent Christianity. We should all keep that in mind as we seek out
those guilty and responsible for September 11th. And before all you Waco aficionados
jump down my throat, none of this excuses what was done to Koresh OR the
World Trade Center. On another topic, the phrase bomb them back to the
Stone Age・has been uttered over and over again. One problem: These people
are still IN the Stone Age.
