Return to Peoria Update

Hi All,
A rather quiet day. When I talked to Jerry this morning he said he was going to get a unit of blood, but then his primary care physician came and said his hemoglobin was up to 9.8 and that he didn't need it. My sister, Ann, came down. Arrived about noon. Louise got home from her grouse bird watching trip and got to the hospital shortly after that. We visited, Ann and I ran a couple errands. Jerry did not eat very well, nothing looked good to him and some of the hospital food would not look good to anybody unless they had been starved for at least a week. Late afternoon we decided to go out to eat and asked Jerry if he would like us to bring something back to him. Louise suggested spaghetti and that sounded good to him. So we ended up buying a half gallon of sauce, cooked pasta, an order of meat balls, and some Italian bread from Avanti's. Those of you from Peoria will know how good their Italian food is. We stopped at my house and picked up plastic plates, silverware, napkins, margarine, oranges and cans of soda. Back to the hospital where we all enjoyed. Jerome ate some pasta and sauce and 4 or 5 meatballs (small ones, about large marble size). Also some orange sections. He walked several times today and seemed to enjoy visiting and hearing about Louise's trip. Also visited with Jake Irions from Chillicothe, who is in the hospital.
Talked to Dave tonight and he is concerned because we do not have a biopsy report yet. So I am to make a stink about that tomorrow. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I expect he will be coming home in a day or so.
Love, Mom/Colleen
