Camp Attaway's Mission

To nurture the mind, the body, and the spirit of children who are missing out on fun, friendship, success, and achievement because of an inability to manage their emotions and behaviors.

Who Do We Serve ?

Camp Attaway is a 3-week summer day camp for children of ages 6-14 with emotional and behavioral disorders. It is a place where children who know failure too well can break out of their negative cycle and learn new skills. Everyone deserves a chance to feel confident and secure in who they are. While enjoying camp activities, campers also learn to cooperate, receive support and guidance, and develop independence.

What Do We Do ?

Individuals and small groups participate in a range of activites including: sports/recreation learning games and computers games to build social skills activity group therapy arts/crafts/drama camping field trips swimming

How Will It Help ?

Through positive interactions with peers and counselors, Camp Attaway offers the opportunity for children with behavioral disorders to gain confidence. Camp Attaway provides a 2:1 ratio of campers to staff, Psychologists, counselors, special educators, and therapists work with campers enabling them to to learn new skills while building new friendships. At Camp Attaway being an individual is a positive experience - learning to be here is only the start. Camp Attaway lays the foundation for successful adjustment in family, school, and community.
