Fall is a wonderful time to FALL into love with Jesus!!!

Did you ever wonderful why leaves change color in the fall? The most important reason that leaves change color in the fall is because God planned it that way when He designed and created our world. If you would like to know HOW God designed leaves to change colors, you can visit Science Made Simple and learn all about leaves.

~ ~ ~ Make your own leaf collection! ~ ~ ~

Making a leaf collection is a fun way to celebrate God's fall creations. While out walking take along a small box or sack. Look for beautiful leaves that are dry and are healthy. After collecting your leaves, you will need to preserve them quickly.

Leaf Press

Collect fall leaves and press them between wax paper. Cover the paper with a cloth and then use a warm iron to seal the wax paper together. Then you can cut out your leaf and add to your collection! *** It's very important that Mom or Dad helps you with this project.

If you prefer, you can press your leaf between 2 paper towels under a heavy book for 7 to 10 days. This will remove all moisture.

Mount Your Leaves!

Using a photo album or scrapbook, add your dried and preserved leaves to your collection. Be sure to identify your leaf and add your personal thoughts to the page also. Some kids like to add a Bible verse to each different leaf page.

Fall Into Love With Jesus!

Fall is a wonderful time to FALL into love with Jesus. What does the Bible say about love? The word "love" is found in the Bible 307 times!

"and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul,
and with all thy might." Deuteronomy 6:5

The Bible tells us that we are to love God with all of our heart and soul.

"but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;" Matthew 5:44

The Bible tells us that we are to love God with all of our heart and soul. The Bible also tells us to love our enemies and pray for them. WOW! That sounds kind of hard to do doesn't it. But we know that if God has told us to do this then He will help us. When you are having a difficult time with a friend, pray to God and ask Him to fill your heart with love for this person. God will answer your prayer and give you the strength you need to forgive and love your enemies.

"Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love
thy neighbor as thyself."
Matthew 19:19

God also thinks that it is VERY important for you to love your Father and Mother. Your parents are a gift to you from God just like you are a gift to your parents. To show love to your parents, you need to try your best to obey them and respect them. If your Heavenly Father thinks that this is important, then we better think so too!

"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one
another; even as I have
loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34

Jesus has given us a new commandment. We are to love one another as He has loved us. It's hard to imagine how much God loves us. We know that He loved us so much that Jesus came and died for us so that we could live in heaven forever if we believe in Him. We are told by Jesus that we should love one another just as much as He has loved us. Ask God to create a special love in your heart for other people.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends." John 15:13

We know that there is NO GREATER LOVE than the LOVE Jesus has for me and YOU! Jesus is our friend and He willingly chose to die for us. Jesus is our very best friend and there is Nobody who loves us more!

"But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners,
Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

God showed His amazing love for us by sending Jesus to die for us even though we were sinners. God's love for you is perfect and it will never change.

"And we know that to them that love God all things work together
for good, [even] to them that are called according to
[his] purpose." Romans 8:28

The Bible tells us that everything works to the good for those of us who love God. Even though our lives may not be going too smoothly sometimes, we know that we can relax. We can have peace inside because we know that God is working on a plan for our lives and we can be assured that it is always for our good.

"But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love." 1Corinthians 13:13

Love is the greatest!

What do all of the verses above have in common?

They all contain the word "love."

Take a moment to completely fall in love with Jesus! Allow the love you feel for Him to become a BIG part of you and what you do. Allow others to see how loving a heavenly Father you have by seeing the love in YOU!

Welcome to Our Apple Orchard!

When God created apples, he put a BIG smile on most kids faces.
Apples are delicious to eat by themselves and are even better in a
home-baked pie. While enjoying all of God's fall creations, be sure and
include a visit to your local apple orchard.

Caramel Apples

1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
6 tbsp. water
Popsicle sticks
8 to 10 apples (McIntoshes work well)

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the brown sugar and water. Stir until it has a smooth consistency. Gently bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 3 minutes, until the pan's sides get steamy and the mixture is thin but somewhat sticky. Remove from heat. Pierce the center of each apple with a Popsicle stick, then swirl in the caramel syrup until coated. Place apples on a greased cookie sheet to harden. Refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours. Serves 8 to 10. (Family.Com)

How to Make Applesauce!

What do you need?
12 medium McIntosh apples
1 cup apple juice or water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

What do I do first?
Wash, peel, core and slice the apples, then place in a large pot. Add the
apple juice or water. Cook over medium heat until soft. Remove from the stove and
let cool. For a fine sauce, mash with a potato masher. Add sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon, and mix. Freeze in plastic containers, or pour into jars decorated with
a handmade apple sticker and give out to your favorite friends.

APPLE BUTTER:
To make, you'll need 10 peeled, cored apples, cut into 1-inch chunks, 1 cup apple cider, and 2 teaspoons apple pie spice. Place the apples in a large saucepan with the cider. Cover the pot and cook for about 30 minutes over low heat until the apples are soft. Cool, divide into two batches, and puree each in a food processor or blender. Pour all the pureed fruit into a 13-by-9-by-2-inch baking dish, sprinkle with apple pie spice, and stir well. Bake in a preheated 300-degree oven for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every 20 minutes, until your apple butter is deep brown and thick. Cool and scoop it into a clean jar with a sealable lid. It will keep for up to 2 months in the refrigerator.
