CorNEWStone

FLASH! October 21, 1999: The boys have been looking for a new name for about a year.  After exhausting about every possibility, and having gained some notoriety as 'Cornerstone', I think they have decided to not change it.  Watch this space for future developments though (being musicians, they change their collective mind a lot).  If you have any ideas for a name, feel free to post it in Graffiti Corner.
FLASH! September 23, 1999: No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth.  So much has happened so quickly that there has been precious little time to keep you updated. This is the short version:  It all started with the departure of guitarist Kevin Jenson after the May 15th Paradise Club gig.  Kevin wanted to spend less time in bars (can't hold that against him).  This set in motion a re-grouping effort that has turned Cornerstone kind of sideways.  Jeff moved out from behind the drums to play guitar.  Drum duties have been placed in the very capable hands of Kevin McGavin.  They started looking for a keyboard player, and at the July gig at Karen's, John Lopiccolo (yes, the former conductor of the Idaho Falls Symphony) did a great job on keys, especially since he only had about 6 hours of rehearsal time.  After much arm-twisting, the boys were able to coerce Rod Aho to join the band as full time keyboardist.  If you haven't heard them yet, you owe it to yourself to check out the new 5-piece version of Cornerstone.
FLASH! January 11, 1999: Adrian, Keith & Jeff will be opening for Ray Charles (yes, the Ray Charles). They will be performing with the legendary Hal Rowberry and local vocal phenom Liatt Potter and the Diversity Trio at the inaugural concert of the new Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls on March 13th.
FLASH! January 1, 1999: What a way to ring in 1999! The First Night Celebration in Idaho Falls last night was a wonderful success. It was great to feel like we were celebrating rather than working. Thanks to everyone who helped make this so much fun. We even enjoyed 'listening' to the fireworks at midnight (that was some fog, eh?).
FLASH! December 1998: The boys ended the year with some momentum after winning the battle of the bands sponsored by The Post Register. In addition to being truly shocked and amazed, they were very pleased because this particular contest included some extremely talented bands and very gifted musicians.
