Penang has some wonderful trails good for beginners and experienced hikers. My ambition is to do a complete penang island walk which include hiking from Teluk Bahang to Muka Head - Teluk Ketapang-Pantai Kerachut - Teluk Kampi - Pantai Mas - Pantai Acheh and Pasir Panjang - Gertak Sanggul. I need to do some survey hike (starting October 2002!) to make sure that trails are marked and accessible. Of course, to complete the whole picture, one needs also to walk from Weld Quay to Teluk Bahang, Sungai Pinang - Pulau Betong and Gertak Sanggul to Weld Quay. It is hard walking on the road. This journey is not for the faint hearted.
