A Different Take on Psionic Combat

I've been tinkering with the Psion sub-classes and Psychic Warrior. I have finally decided upon reducing them to three Core Classes. Check out the changes here.

I have done a major rework of the system. Instead of all the Cerebral Aptitudes and Physique Boosts, I have turned many of them back into Combat Modes, and the rest into Psionic Feats. I also introduced a few new Psionic Feats (which may need some tweaking).

Many of these changes came about with help from Otakkun and PsiandCo (who is running a PBeM Psionics game). Without further ado, go get Version 2.9 (I know, I know, I 'skipped' a few versions with play testing/feedback)

I have updated the Monsters to use Version 2.6. I have also added in many of the Cerebral Aptitudes and Physique Boosts as regular Psionic Feats for those that don't like the complexity of Version 2.6.

I have removed all previous (obsolete) versions, as I don't think they are necessary. I have left (and will continue to make available) the original rework of the Psionic Combat System (for those who want a minor change to address the Psionic Combat problem), and the Simple Version with Monsters (for those who want to try some of the funky new powers/combat modes). Also the Monster section has been moved out of the main file, and is available below under the Psionic Monsters heading. For those of you who just want a minor change (ie NOT Version 2.6), you can still find them under Old Psionic Monsters below.
 

The Three Psychic Classes:

I reworked the Psion sub-classes and Psychic Warrior and converted them into three archtypical psychic character classes. There is the Biomancer, master of altering and modifying himself and others; the Teek, master of force and energy creation; and the Telepath, master of the mind.

I have reworked the Psion and Psychic Warrior classes (incorporating Resculpt Mind and Primary Discipline Power Chaining as Class Features). I also fixed up an error in the saving throws for both classes.

There are a whole slew of NEW Psionic Feats, and reworked/reworded Combat Modes.

This file contains all of the monsters in the Psionics Handbook as well as the monsters from the Psionics Web Enhancement. They have all been updated to Version 3.0. Main change was with the Mind Flayer and the Neothelid.

Cerebral Purist

A Cerebral Purist is a Psion that specialises in psionic combat. He gains several potent abilities that aid him in his mental conquests.

The Cerebral Purist was developed with Otakkun.

Teeker

Version: 1.3
Released: 27th October 2001

Teeker's specialise in the manipulation and projection of forces.

The Teeker is based on an idea by PsiandCo, and developed with input from Otakkun.


Psionic Combat Modes Only:

This version contains only the modified Psionic Combat Modes (the 10 from the Psionics Handbook and 2 new ones), as well as the Feats from the Psionics Handbook. This is probably the easiest version to slot into an existing campaign as it doesn't introduce new concepts or abilities, just alters how the psionic combat affects things. The changes introduced in this version are relatively minor.

This version includes a few dozen new psionic combat feats, and introduces a new method for acquiring the combat modes. This version introduces a medium amount of change to the current system.
