Hello, I have just discovered your site about the Vautour and I must say I am really impressed, altough I have not had the time yet to read it all.
I am one of the sons of Jean Charles Parot, who headed the design of the Vautour, but I don't know all about it because my father didn't used to speak about his work when at home...
    Best regards,
    Didier Parot. (France)

    1. Hello,I signed your guestbook last night just before discovering your 'out of this world' site on the Israeli Vautours.
    2. So, I am back again to extend my warmest congratulations for your magnificent efforts in obtaining and compiling all this 'rare' information !
    3. As you probably know, I am the author of the reference book on the Vautour (also co-founder of AIR FAN magazine some 20 years ago), having flown on V2N's as a reporter, photographed planes of EC 30 and EB 92
*(by the way, this wing moved from Cognac to Bordeaux-Mérignac in March 1961),
    4. studied the factory files at Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Cloud, researched all over French bases and in Polynesia where many of these aircraft participated in atomic tests.
    5. Regarding your site, I can be of help since there are many 'inaccuracies' ('errors' would definitely not be the right word) and lack of confirmation about production aircraft numbers or other matters.
    6. Best regards and, again, bravo or even bravissimo, for your work. !

  • Message: I found your site when I typed "matos" in the netex site. I guess I'm one of a relatively small group of people that hear the names such as VAUTOUR , or METEOR or OURAGAN and know what it means. So, congratulations for a great job. I also had never been to the I.D.F, but when I was a kid (born 1961), and used to read all the "betaon heil haavir" I could find, especially the old ones, and I still remember a story about the new Vautour. However, the first time I really saw this plane, was in Refidim, 1978, where my high school class saw sent for "sherut leumi". We were working in "mahsan herum", but I could not resist the temptation and I took a walk trip by myself to the runway area, where I saw some "decoys" : 4 dummy skyhawks, and 3 or 4 real vautours, which I was excited to see, especially because there was a climbing ladder on at list one of them, and I climbed to the cockpit and sat in the pilots seat. I was wondering what happened to these plans after Refidim was returned to the Egyptians not so long after that. Do you know if they were returned to Israel or just left there ? anyway, thanks for your site.

  • Message: Was looking for some unique aircraft to download when a search turned up your site. An excellent effort on an aircraft that is not very well known. As a teenager, living at a Canadian Air Base in Germany, in the later 50's...I believe I actually saw one of these but lacked the interest in aviation at that time. Now have a liking for the old big twins.. We were flying the CF-100 Canuck then. Just thought I would let you know that your efforts in putting a site out in cyber-space for the enjoyment of others is much appreciated. Thank you , Walt

  • Message:Hi Zvi . . . I was very interested to find a 'link' to your website when searching for something else ... in fact, I have been trying to find some information on the Vautour for a little while now as it is an aircraft I know very little about .. I have a general interest in aircraft of this period. I have a special interest in the Meteor and Phantom both of which, of course, were utilised by IAF. Again, thanks for a very interesting site ! • From: Avraham Sfadia
(Of the first Meteor N.F.13 and Vautour N navigators)
  • Message: It is a good initiative for a special and extraordinary plane to be mentioned and related in this channel of the media. The thecnical details are good enough. Still missing the fact about the place of the 119 Sqn. (in the age of the NF-13 and the Vautour in he night defence of Israel, as "pioneers" in that period. While the Mirage pilots left to sleep with the "Chikens", the night crews guarded Israel's sky. In those days pilots couldn't realise the value of "someone sitting behind", with additional eyes in training and in combat. Today, it is obvious to fly in team . that's all for now. I must look in my files to find some more details. Thanks for the initiative & we shall keep in touch. Avraham.

  • Message: I just had a glance. It is amazing. Will visit again soon. The only real data I had until now was that found in Biaf of Yehuda Borovik. I have a strong interest in military aviation, in particular that related to the IAF. My father is Sam Feldman who flew the B-17's of the "Hammers" in Milchemet Hashichrur (War of Independence) and acted also as it's O.C. I am his youngest son, now 41. Amos Dor recommended I "surf" to your web site.

  • Message: Yes, I was the first IAF pilot to fly the Vautour in the CENTRE DES EXPERIMENTATION AERIENNE in Bretigny, near Paris, in 1956. It was a dual seat prototype equipped with two AVON British axial compression turbo jets (because the SNECMA engines were not ready for test flying). The performance of this Avon-equipped prototype was better than the ones we purchased with the French engines.
  • ( Also sent more details about his three test flights ).

But in the meantime I guess it's easier to get information about the most secret russian aircraft than about some french models which actually flew! So every site about french aviation is very welcome. greetings from Germany !
