In the Beginning...

I got the van from a car dealer Thong Lee in Thomson Used CarMart. The salesman was nice and friendly, even helped us with the financial. So on 10 Oct 1998, coincidentally it is also my mum's birthday. We drove off with our new/old van.

This van was nice on the outside but a little rotten on the inside. I mean that I had to do a lot of work on it to get it where I could drive it with no worries. The first week was shocking seeing that I was filling petrol/gas every 3 days. It was turning into a petrol/gas guzzler about 6-9km/l. It had a funny habit of not starting up after stopping for about 20mins. I went to several mechs from West to East, none could actually rectify my problem. It is not until one holiday that I went to a Mechs shop in Enos that I met a guy which became a very good friend, his name is Jonathan.

Jonathan is very knowledgeable about cars and have been around them since he was 13. He introduced me to a mech in JB, and that is when the fun starts. The mech shop is Choy Lee in Permas Jaya and the man himself is Nam. He listened to my complaints and went to work and found that the Carb was leaking. The float had a leak in it so just like a dripping toilet bowl it kept dripping petrol. The next visit he changed the carb and since then no more starting problems.

And since then I have been making trips to JB to get my van serviced by Nam. I have no regrets in going to him. And recommend him to anyone needing a good and inexpensive mech. Nam's experience ranges from the Japanese cars, to Mercedez Benzs, BMWs, and my little van.
