Buried Alive...
One of the largest fears of the late 1800s and early 1900s was being buried alive. If you were in a koma, and it looked like you were dead, you were pretty much screwed. What people were afraid of, wasn't people purposely burying you alive, but people thinking that you were dead, and burying you in your coffin.

Some people put in their will that while they're in the funeral home, they want to be drained of all their blood so they will surly be dead.
