Some US egyptologists found in 1949s in Egypt an ancient device. It was a large circle made from some strange material and it was very very old. The US army took it to a secret high-tech laboratory. In the next decades intensive research was made on the object. They found out that the device was a gate to another planet in our galaxy. They named it Stargate. But they couldn't activate it.
Dr. Daniel Jackson finally succeeded in activating it. A special army unit under the command of Jonathan 'Jack' O'Neil was established. They were very heavy armed and had the newest high-tech equipment. Together with Daniel they went through the Stargate. Their mission was to find out what was on the other side of the Stargate and to secure the other side, so no one could get through the Stargate to Earth. If it would be impossible to secure the other side then they would have to destroy the Stargate on the other side.
They came to the other side. They were in a large stone building. They quickly secured the perimeter around the Stargate. Then they put the special explosive on the Stargate, which would in emergency destroy the Stargate. Then they explored the old building. They came outside the building. They were in a desert. They explored the surrounding. The building with the Stargate reassembled a pyramid, but without the top. A team of soldiers climbed on a large dune to inspect the surroundings. They couldn't find anything. All around them was only desert.
The night came. Jack posted several guards outside the building. Daniel still explored the building. Suddenly a large spaceship appeared from the sky. The guards alarmed the unit. Jack called the guards back into the building and established a heavy guarded defense around the Stargate. The spaceship had the form of a large pyramid. It landed on the building. The soldiers could feel the trembling of the building as the spaceship landed. Several minutes after the landing a cylinder of strange light appeared from the top of the building. Then for a long time nothing happened. Jack decided to send a small robot vehicle to the strange light. When the robot drove into the light it disappeared. The robot had a small camera so the soldiers could see that it appeared again in the spaceship in a small room. There was no one in the room, it looked deserted.
Jack sent three soldiers after the robot. They appeared in the spaceship, checked the empty room and secured it. Jack with some more soldiers came after them. They started to explore the spaceship, corridor by corridor and room by room. There was no one in the spaceship. It was deserted. Daniel came to the spaceship. They took him to the main room, with several chairs for the pilots and a lot of strange instruments. Daniel started to decipher the instruments. It looked like the original occupants of the spaceship were humans or some extraterrestrial species who looked like humans.
After a while Daniel had a shocking news. He found out that the spaceship would fly back from where it came in some 15 minutes. It looked like it had some sort of a autopilot. Jack demanded from Daniel that he turned off the autopilot. But Daniel knew to little to do that. Jack had to make a difficult decision. They could all leave the spaceship and let it go. There was a chance that the spaceship would not return, so they would lose the opportunity to explore it and to find out from where it came. They could go with the spaceship and risk that they would never come back to earth again. Daniel wanted to go with the spaceship. It was a difficult decision for Jack. He decided that they would go with the spaceship. He ordered his men to collect all the information that they got from exploring this planet and this spaceship. Then he sent two soldiers with the collected information back to Earth, so on Earth they would know what was happening. He left some men by the Stargate and demanded reinforcement from Earth to protect the Stargate. With his other men and with Daniel they went to the main room in the spaceship, sat themselves in the pilot chairs and waited for the take off.
They didn't knew how the acceleration would affect them. Where they safe in the pilot chairs or should they protect themselves. The spaceship took off. They didn't feel any acceleration. Daniel succeeded in making transparent a large window, so they could see how they were flying through the atmosphere and then through space away from the planet. Then Daniel found a way to make transparent all the walls of the spaceship. It was spectacular, it was like they were flying through space without a spaceship. And they were flying very fast. After a while they came to a gas giant with spectacular rings. Behind the gas giant there was another Stargate. But this one was gigantic. The spaceship went through the space Stargate.
They came out on the other side of the space Stargate. It was spectacular. In front of them there was a large space structure. Thousands and thousands of gigantic space stations were connected together like in a web. They were approaching one of the space station. Far away in the center of the web there was a gigantic building, probably the main headquarters of the whole structure. More spectacular was that they were outside the galaxy. They had a fantastic view of the galaxy behind the structure. This had to be a large intergalactic spaceport or terminal. There was no Stargate behind them from where they came. It looked like the Stargate field surrounded the whole structure.
They docked to a space station. From their spaceship they explored their surrounding. They couldn't find any activity. It looked like the large intergalactic structure was deserted. Only occasionally they could detect a spaceship similar to their own taking off from the structure or landing on one of the several thousands space stations. They were probably also on autopilot like their own.
Jack and several of his men went exploring the space station. Daniel with the rest of the soldiers stayed on the spaceship. The space station was deserted. They went exploring the large tunnels that connected the space stations.
After a while Daniel detected some small spaceships moving through the structure. He used the zoom of the spaceship to see and analyze the spaceships. They were different than their spaceship or the space stations. He also detected some movements in the corridors and space stations. The movements were going from several different regions to the location were Jack and his men were. The spaceships went also to that location. Daniel warned Jack. Jack decided to return quickly to their spaceship.
But on their return Jack and their men were intercepted in the corridors. The alien soldiers attacked them. There was a heavy fight. During the fight Jack and his men inspected one of the dead enemy soldiers and sent also the pictures of him back to Daniel. The uniforms and the weapons of the enemy soldiers were completely different than everything they saw until that moment. But surprisingly the enemy soldiers were completely human. Daniel developed a theory that the enemy soldiers were not the original habitants of this intergalactic structure, but just some visitors like themselves They were probably coming from a planet in the galaxy and probably they also found somewhere a deserted Stargate, which brought them to this place. But they were more developed than humans from Earth, while they already mastered the space flight. And maybe the original habitants of the intergalactic structure were also humans, who came to this galaxy from another one and settled different planets in it. That would explain why the enemy soldiers were also humans like themselves.
The battle became very spectacular. The small spaceships attacked Daniel's spaceship. Fortunately the spaceship had an energy shield, so they were protected. But Daniel didn't knew for how long. He couldn't find any weapons on their spaceship. The soldiers that were with Daniel on board the spaceship went to the space station to help Jack and his men. After a long and heavy battle Jack and his men returned to the spaceship. Some of Jack's men were dead and several of them were wounded. During this time Daniel succeeded in learning how to fly the spaceship. So he took off under the heavy fire of the enemy spaceships. In the distance he saw that some large enemy spaceships were approaching. So it was urgent to run away. They approached the large Stargate field and went through it. They hoped that the enemy wouldn't know where they went to or at least wouldn't wanted to follow them.
On the other side of the Stargate they came back to the system of the desert planet. Daniel was relieved, while he wasn't quit sure if he could bring the spaceship back to the right system. They flew to the desert planet. The enemy spaceships didn't follow them. But when they were half way to the desert planet the enemy spaceships appeared through the Stargate. The number of spaceships was very large. And immediately after them several very large enemy spaceships appeared. Daniel detected them with the instruments on board their spaceship. The chase began.
The small enemy spaceships caught them, before they came to the desert planet. They attacked heavily. But the defense shield of the spaceship protected them. Under heavy fire they landed on the desert planet. The large enemy spaceships started to attack. As soon as Jack established communication with his men at the original Stargate he ordered them to prepare for battle and to prepare the explosive for destroying the Stargate. The enemy starships landed around the building in which the Stargate was and the enemy ground troops started to attack immediately. But luckily Earth sent in the past day heavy arms to protect the Stargate, so there were heavy military troops with heavy arms around the building. A spectacular heavy battle developed. When Jack and his men came from their spaceship to the building he ordered retreat back to Earth and he ordered to start the count-down of the explosive on the Stargate. The soldiers slowly retreated under heavy fire to the Stargate and then back to Earth. Some seconds after the last soldier retreated the explosive went off and the Stargate was destroyed to dust.
Back on Earth the military authorities interrogated Jack, his men and Daniel for several weeks. The whole project was and stayed top secret. After several weeks Jack and Daniel stood outside the military complex and looked to the sky. It was amazingly that there was somewhere there outside our galaxy a large abandoned intergalactic structure, but it was also very frightening to know that there was a high-developed aggressive enemy somewhere in our galaxy which was probably at that moment trying to locate Earth to destroy it.
