"How Can I Keep From Singing"
by Enya
"A poet is an unhappy being whose heart is torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them, they sound like beautiful music . . . and then people crowd about the poet and say to him: 'Sing for us soon again;' that is as much as to say, 'May new sufferings torment your soul.'"
---Soren Kierkegaard, 1813-1855,
Danish Philosopher, Writer
Webmasters note to the reader
My hope is to unite art, poetry and song. Although, many songs are born from poems, art normally stands on its own and in its own beautiful right. I attempt to merge these in an effort to intensify what's being conveyed and sometimes to give a little more to a piece of art.;
When truth be told to another, it often lands harsh and overwhelming; I believe poetry doesn't do that. Poetry lends a certain ear or hearing. Like an understanding that can strike the heart and sends it to its knees.
Many people ask me about my poems; like what does this mean, what does that mean? My response is "Please tell me what it means to you". For art is just that, what it means to you. I look forward to your responses to this question and or any other comments you may have.

"This mortal frame of mine which is made of a hundred bones and nine orifices there is  something, and this something is called a "wind-swept spirit" for lack of a better name, for it is much like a thin drapery that is torn and swept away at the slightest stir of the wind. This something in me . . . . has never found peace with itself, always wavering between doubts of one kind and another . . . . The fact is, it knows no other art than the art of writing poetry, and therefore, it hangs on to it more or less       blindly."
---Matsuo Basho, 1644-1694
"And he sang to them, now in the Elven tongue, now in the speech of the West, until their hearts, wounded with sweet words, overflowed, and their joy was like swords, and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness."

This gift is from someone that I once came across as I was surfing the web.  I have to say she has one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. For her to give this to me, meant a lot. So, I wanted to share it with you. I don't know what happened to her and her site can't be found, this I am saddened by, as I was hoping to share it with you.
Phenomenal Men Of The Web This award was given to me by a person that initially inspired me to write the things I do,  let alone get me in  touch with that part of me that had been dormant for many years.
       Thank you, Mandy
