Roundup 2000

Including Ford's Cobra R Prototype

This Pony Trails event was one of the highlights of our entire trip.  We got the privilege of not only seeing the Cobra R but meeting Dave Dempster, who is an engineer in Ford's Michigan SVE group.  So much fun was had by all that we are anxious to get to the Roundup next year for more fun times with all of our Mustang cohorts.

Try and pick out the four club members in this picture . . . a hint . . . one Mystic, one Cobra convert, one 1966 convert, and finally one red Cobra coupe.

The turn out for Pony Trails was unbelievable.  There were 212 mustangs in one large group.  Although there were no pictures it was a tight squeeze onto the weigh station ramp.  The president of our club was able to climb up onto a plane to get these great pictures.  With him is Mr. Ford from Mustang Monthly.

Ford's 2000 Cobra R being driven in by Dave Dempster, SVE Engineer.  Of course, Gary and Jeff were right there to take a photo with Dave.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR . . . Look at that motor!!!!

Here is the P51 Mustang that flew into the airport from the Olympia museum and behind are the 212 mustangs lined up and ready to fly.  Jeff, Gary, Cindy, and I were fortunate enough to get our picture taken with this awesome plane.

Here are Jeff and Gary proudly standing next to the Cobra R on the Hood Canal bridge.

We decided to take the ferry back.  In order from left to right Dave, Gary, Cindy, Ken, Tracy, Jeff, and Darrin.
