This Page is dedicated
to my Grandfather-
My grampa was the greatest man
in the entire world and I am creating this page in his memory.
When I was a very little girl my
grampa and I would do everything together...
Long walks in the woods
were my all time favorite. He lived on a 75 acre farm all my life and we were never
without woods to walk in. I was a never ending chatterbox. Full of so many
questions and he always had an answer. He always explained everything in full
detail, and if he had no words he would pull out one of his many books and we would read
about it together.
When I was in Jr. High
School I had to do a report on another country. He spent a week helping me go
through every one of his old National Geographics, copied pictures and he even helped me
create a map, By the time we were done I knew more about that country then I did my
own! He was always helping me with reports and even looked for things so I
could get extra credit. One time he sent the pictures he had painted to school with
me so I could "show and tell" to everyone at school just because I asked
him if I could see them. (I used to just sit and watch him paint for hours
when I was little and that is a lot for a 5 year old!)
When I got older I turned
away from being a "Christian" and looked more into my Native American Heritage.
I even started wearing a Medicine Bag (which I am never without). Shortly
after that my younger sister got married. While at her wedding she asked-no demanded
I remove it for the pictures because "this is a phase you are going through and I do
not want that THING in MY pictures". My Grampa was also taking snapshots of all
of us and when he heard her say that he came up to me and told me not to let her get me
upset because he understood that it was not a "phase" and he told me to leave it
on in his. He said that if I wanted to wear it then go right ahead because no matter
"who or what" I ever become I would always be his granddaughter and that
he will always love me!
When he died a part of me
died also, but I go on knowing that he is always there watching over me. I even talk
to him sometimes and he will answer me back. (yes I know it sounds wierd, but it is true)
He speaks not with words, but with a feeling that comes from the heart and soul.
More will come to this page as I
aquire it from my family. I want to have his art work on here and information about what
and where he was in WWII! As well as a few childhood pictures of he
and I (then you can see how much of a tom-boy I really was!)
