Sometimes I just get lucky, as with me and the fishes, or the owl at night, or crabs.

At other times, a tripod, cable release, self-timer and flash are a big help for self-portraits like:
me and a bass, Steve Zito and me in his studio, my unexpected arrival at the Birmingham airport ( BHM ),
or Inga and me relaxing in the study (64K).
(sorry about the subject matter, but they are self-portraits!).

My wife Lynn and I have two dogs now, Inga and Buddy. Inga (right) is a pedigreed German Shepherd, while Buddy (left) is a stray that adopted us in the summer of 1996. Here's a recent shot (2/97) of Inga and Buddy. Inga at four months.
Update: We now have two dogs and a poodle, with the addition of Perot (65K), a bona-fide hand grenade with a bad haircut...Buddy shows us one way to control Perot...Inga shows us that indifference works...and Perot shows his idea (46K) of the pecking order...
Further Update:Lynn wants to breed German Shepherds, so we acquired a little stud we named Zappa (photo by Jenifer).
Update time:April 23, 2001 Now look at a candid of Zappa with his tongue out. He's almost full grown now, and winning First Place AKC Ribbons at every opportunity.

Now, the sad news: Buddy began biting...first he bit Zappa on the nose, then one day peeled a large flap of skin off the inside of Zappa's leg. Weeks later, Lynn had him on the leash and gave a sharp correction; he turned and bit her. He tried to bite me on several corrections. We began talking to experts and they all gave the same opinion: it was probably due to a brain dysfunction for which nothing could be done, and that he was "infecting" the other dogs with his violent behavior. In fact, the latter, at least, was true...I had seen a dramatic increase in fight behavior. So, Buddy was judged criminally insane with canicidal(dogicidal) tendencies and sentenced to death on the 24th of February, 2001. The sentence was carried out later that day at the local humane shelter.

By way of tribute, here are a few photos of Buddy, a damn good dog...

Buddy . 1995-2001 . R.I.P.

We got a local police officer to take this shot of us (without any dogs) on our honeymoon.

I shot the beach at Port St. Joe on that trip, and this one later outside at Flipper's,
my favorite bar in (actually, east of) Destin. Here's a Sunset at Flipper's.
Note: What was Flipper's is now Theo's, a great pizza place! The sunsets are still just as good!

Loco Locals.com keeps you up to date on music at Theo's!

Here's a very cooperative Destin seagull.

Here's one Lynn took of me and Dennis "The Rock" Dumas at Captain Dave's Marina
in Destin, Florida, May 1995. We played right there on the deck for people waiting to get a table at the restaurant. Good Fun!

My dad took this family portrait (47K) during Christmas several years ago to document the family resemblance. That's me in front. What do you think?
Here's my nephew, Curtis Lee (32K), carrying on the Santa-type traditions.
Here's a more formal shot I took Christmas of 1998, with all the new additions.

I took this full moon shot(20K) from our Birmingham front yard on December 2, 1998.

We went sailing with Lynn's Uncle Frank on January 15( no kidding! ) and I found out that it's difficult to photograph porpoises.

This photo was taken during the lunar eclipse(22k) on January 20, 2000.
