Earth
The North Quarter
The Element Earth is in the North, the place of greatest darkness and mystery. The Element Earth is solid. It is stablity, security, substanance, body, endurance, survival, Mother, dark of midnight, thought anf grounding.
Earth is fertile. moist and nurturing. It rules over life, birth. health, instinct, sensation, animal, nature, creativity, and decay. It rules over bones, trees, the body, caves, rocks, rystal and the sense of touch.
Earths colors include greens, browns of all shades, black, white, purple.
Earth/North is symbolized by the penticle, grain, salt, rice, clay bowls, sand, acron and bone.
The Element is Feminine...Melancholic...Winter (the time of greatest darkness) ...touch...
drumming....receptive.
Sacred Places include: caves, groves, caverns, valleys, goardens, fields, forests, and kitchens.
Sacred Herbs and Plants include: barely, hops, Oak, ivy, corn, wheat, rye, comfrey, rice...

Working with Stones

There are a few things to keep in mind when working with stones:
(1) Select stones that you feel especially drawn to, then investigate their associations and power, and (2) Cleanse each new stone and empower it with your own energies. You can cleanse stone a couple of ways...place the stone in a stream to allow the water to carry away any previous or negative energy----you can also place the stone in salt water over night and beneath the light of the full moon. These are a few stones that I am especially drawn to and work with the most often.
Amber
Catherine's stone. Used in ritual to enhance attractiveness---helps to attract love and stimulates happiness and pleasure. Used for goodluck and protective amulets. It is said to increase to the power of any spell when placed on your altar or Crafting space.
Amethyst
Calms fears, reduces stress, dispels doubts and negativity. Used to relieve depression and promtoe good judgement. It is said to induce vivid dreams, mentals powers, and is useful in enhancing psychic awareness. Place stone with divination tools for added insight and power.
Citrine
Protects from nightmares and induces peaceful restfull sleep. Helps increase self-esteem and protomes creativity. 
Crystal Quartz
Clarity. Helps to increase the energy of other stones. Considered an "amplifier" of energy. Used to relieve headaches, reduce fevers, and calm toothaches.
Flourite
My favorite stone! It comes in transparent shades of blue, green, and lavender. It has a lovely matte feel.
It strengthens the power of other stones---helps to "straighten-out" thoughts---and has the ability to reduce the level of emotions in any situation, so that a more accurate , logical perspective can be had. It heightens analytical abilities and effectively lowers anger, depression, and desperation.
Garnet
Highly protective stone that provides a barrier of charged vibrations which repel negative energy. Used for protection after dark and to strengthen ones aura. It is great for lending extra energy to ritual work. Said to enhance bodily strength and endurance.
Jade
Wisdom. Attracts love and is useful for protection. Placed on third chakra (center of forehead) it is said to enhance clarity and enlightenment. This stone is used to aid  the body in healing  itself
Lapis
Improves emotional, physical, spiritual and psychic conditions. Releives depression while promoting peace. Lapis is excellent for use in divination. It is used for protection and the promotion of courage.
Rose Quartz
The definitive stone for love rituals. Promotes peace, happiness and fidelity in established relationships.
Sun Stone
Stimulates sexual aousal and increases sexual energy. Very protective and used to increase physical energy when ill. Place a sunstone with healing herbs to increase their healing power.
Tiger Eye
For protection from all forms of danger. Useful with divination tools, especially when delving into past lives. Increases energy flow through the body, and is therefore useful during illness. It will strengthen your convictions and create courage and confidence.
