Night Crawlers
WutaiCat is
a funny “creature”, you might say, taking catnaps during hours of sunlight and
prowling the streets at night. Under
the moon, she is awake… playing and working.
But, unfortunately for Cat, she is the only one who stirs at the Oasis
in the dark. Lavantis and Zell71 are
horrible company, being early birds and not night owls. They are always sleeping peacefully, while
Cat stalks… Of course, she always finds
someone to talk to, and where better to look than in the Final Fantasy 7
lounge…
WutaiCat:
Hello? He-ll-oooo? Anyone here?
Poking her
head cautiously through the door, Cat peers around the lounge.
Vincent:
*stepping out of the shadows*……….I am here………….
WutaiCat:
Hey!!! I've been looking all
over for someone to hang out with!!
Vincent:
………hang out with?………
WutaiCat:
Yeah…. So, errr, what are you doing, Vinnie?
Vincent: ……….
Sighing
heavily, WutaiCat plopped herself down on the couch, her eyes never leaving
Vincent's rigid form, when suddenly another figure emerged from the
darkness. It was, of course, Reno. Holding a flask in one hand, Reno grinned
mischievously at Cat before using his hand to sloppily measure Vincent's
height.
Reno: If I
had to guess, I'd say he was up to about 6 foot… but if only he drank more milk!
*shaking his head* He could have
been 6'4 at least. That's what happens
when you don't eat right.
Vincent:
Don't touch me.
WutaiCat:
*stifling a laugh* Looking for
company, Reno?
Reno:
Looking? Never!! Although if I'd known you two were around I
wouldn't have activated those alarm clocks…
Vincent:
*raising an eyebrow at Reno* …….
Reno: What's
a matter Vinnie? *shrugging innocently*
Nobody was hurt…
WutaiCat: Not
yet anyway… but if I were you… I mean,
waking people up just makes them mad.
You're really twisted, aren't you?
Reno:
*pointing to himself* Me?? I'm
more agreeable than a kitty CAT, if you get me… heheh…
WutaiCat:
*shaking her head at Reno* That's
pretty pathetic… but who exactly did
you wake up??
Reno: You're
making such a big deal out of nothing.
So, I woke up Cloud? *hesitates*
And Cid… and Tifa… and a few others…They're always good for a few laughs… plus
they'd feel left out if we excluded them from our party.
Vincent: ……I
want to be excluded next time…
Reno:
*muttering under his breath* …you would…
WutaiCat:
*sighing* Why would you do
that? I mean, if we were waking up
people, I'd just get Zell71 and Lavantis…
Reno: Oh, I
wouldn't worry about them… or any of the Final Fantasy 8 crew…
WutiaCat:
*placing her hands on her ears* Don’t tell me!! I don't want to know!!
Vincent: If
everyone is awake… where are they?…
WutaiCat:
Good point, Vinnie. I bet Reno
was just lying…
As if on
cue, Cloud suddenly came barreling in, waving a piece of paper in one hand and
a sharpened pencil in the other.
Cloud: There
you are, Cat. I'm ready like you said
to be. Here.
WutaiCat: *taking
the paper and pen unenthusiastically* ….like I said to be?….
WutaiCat
looked questioningly at Reno, and knew from his sly grin and stifled laughter
that this was his doing.
Cloud: So,
are you going to start? Where do you
want me?
WutaiCat: Ummm,
well, let's see… I've got a pencil…. a
clean sheet of paper…. and a Cloud…
Reno:
*snickering* This isn't even the
good part.
Cloud: What's
that supposed to mean??
Reno:
Whatever you what it to mean, Spikehead.
WutaiCat: Oh
shut up Reno. *snapping her
fingers* OH! I'm going to DRAW you!!!
Cloud:
*glancing at Cat strangely*
Yeah, don't you want to? I mean…
you drew Tifa, and Aeris, and Yuffie, and Cid, and Barret, and Reno…
WutaiCat: Of
course I want to draw you… and don't forget that Lavantis draws you all the
time!!
Cloud: …so
you want to draw me?
WutaiCat:
Yeah, just… I don't think right now is a good time.
Cloud:
Why? Is there somewhere else you
want to be?
WutaiCat: Oh
I just…. it's nothing.
Cloud:
*shaking his head* So you
guessed it, didn't you? I told Reno you
would!!!
WutaiCat:
Yeah, haha… *playing along uncertainly*
You guys almost had me… good ol' Reno…
Reno:
*folding his arms across his chest*
You don't know anything.
Cloud: Well, it
doesn't take a genius to figure out that I'm here as a distraction!!!
WutaiCat:
Right…. A distraction…
Cloud:
See? She knew that. WutaiCat's one of the smartest people I
know.
Reno: That's
just because you're a complete moron.
Cloud: Take
that back before I beat your face in.
Reno: Ohhh,
is that a threat? I'm shaking in my
boots!!
WutaiCat:
Cloud, don't. Please.
Sephiroth:
*materializing amist the group*
No, do it.
Cloud: Who
asked you?
Sephiroth:
Who did not?
Cloud:
What???
Reno: See,
this is what I'm talking about. He's
clueless.
Lavantis:
*popping her head through the door, then scurrying to Cloud's side* Be quiet Reno. I love Cloud.
Reno: Don't
you love me too?
Lavantis:
No. Not now anyway. And there you are Sephy!!! I've been looking for you all day…
Sephiroth:
You have?
Lavantis:
*squinting her eyes at him*
Yes. It's about what you did to
my story… writing little comments?
Remember??
Sephiroth:
Shhhh… what's that noise? I have
to go find out. *vaporizes into thin
air*
Lavantis:
Damn it… that dirty little rat….
*sigh* Oh well… Anyways, I don't know
what's going on, but just stay away from the Fanfiction. I don't need things going up in smoke, not
that Sephy doesn't give me a run for my money…
but the noise out there is horrible!!
Vincent:
Horrible?
Lavantis:
Yeah, so next time you get the Fanart Section redone by the Final
Fantasy 7 and 8 crew, wait til morning!!!
I mean, Cat, Zell71 and myself actually sleep, ya know, at NIGHT.
WutaiCat: ………
Lavantis:
*yawn* Alright, that's all I
wanted to say. Ga'night! And if you see Sephiroth, smack him over the
head!!
With nothing
more than a slight wave, Lavantis, glided out the door, pulling Cloud close
behind her and stomped (she always had heavy feet) down the corridor.
Reno: Yup,
yup, yup. You gotta love Lavie. Hehehehhhh…
WutaiCat:
*clenching her fists together*
God help me, if anything is wrong with the Fanart Section, I'll kill
you…
Reno: Ahhh…
but you'll have to catch me first!!
Then Reno,
cackling histerically, sped out of the room, leaving just the two, sitting
silently for a few minutes..
WutaiCat: Do
you think it'll be that bad??
Vincent:
……just think of what each person wears…
WutaiCat: Ugh… it's going to be horrible!!!
Vincent:
……maybe…. Or just colorful……
