Welcome to Zcars4us.com.  This page is dedicated to the Datsun and Nissan Z cars from 1970 to present.    We will include pictures of our two  Zs and the 1994 300 ZX that we sold last year as well as lots of other Z cars we run across..   There are a lot of pictures in the picture index.   Most are Z related but I also have some non-Z stuff in there also. Please enjoy and send me email.

A little history of our cars:

We bought the '94 300Z brand new for my wife.  It was the first Z for both of us and my wife fell in love with it.  When it got up to 40,000 miles in 1997 we wanted to buy a used car to use as our daily driver and save the 300ZX.  We noticed that a used 280ZX wasn't very expensive and they sure looked good.  When we were in high school everyone wanted a 280Z or later a 280ZX.  We said what the heck, let's buy something we always wanted but couldn't afford.  It took a lot of looking to find a super clean '83 in Kalamazoo Michigan.  We talked to the owners several times on the phone and flew up, bought it, and drove it back with no problems.  My wife uses the '83 as her daily driver and it still looks great for having 120,000 miles.   We joined the Z Club of Houston in 1997 and have met a lot of other fun people who love Z cars.  Since we owned two Z's it was only natural that we would eventually want the ultimate Z, a  240Z.  We bought a '72 240Z in March of 1999 and are currently restoring it to it's prior glory.  When we brought the 240 to the next Z club of Houston meeting, we found out it had been on the cover of a book and had won a 2nd prize at the second annual Z convention in Dallas in 1989.   We had the engine rebuilt by Awesome Z of Houston and the interior re-done in black leather.  You can't tell in the photos but the '72 was in need of a new paint job, and while we were doing that we might as well get rid of that aftermarket sunroof and any rust we found along the way...right?  As of March 2001 the 240 is nothing more than a shell with new back quarterpanels (rust was found of course).  The engine is sitting at Awesome Z and lots of parts are in my living room.   When it's all done it will look fantastic with a new Lexus "Absolutely Red" paint job with new cermachromed headers and lots of new chrome in the engine compartment.  I will soon be adding lots of photos of the restoration in progress. For those of you wondering why we sold the 300 ZX...well my wife saw one of those new Mercedes SLK 320s and it was all over.   Look for a picture of the Mercedes soon.  Thanks for reading and please send comments, Richard
