They pack a punch and a Kick

  Some of them are as young as five but these fighters from karate club hope to do some serious kicking when they make their competitive debut this month.
  The fighters, whose levels range from white to brown belt, will contest the tournament of champions at the Whitlam Centre in Liverpool on Sunday June 29.
  Run by the Australian Karate Federation, the tournament will feature the best karate fighters from accross Sydney.   The group of 25 trains twice

"Some are only six or seven years old and are very good so I'd hate to see them when they're 12," he said, laughing.

  "This will be their first tournament but some of these kids are very good and there are a couple of young guns so I think we'll win a few divisions at the tournament," Fenech said.
  Some children have been training for five years.
  "The kids love it as it gives them discipline but, at the same time, they have a lot of fun," Fenech said.
  "They gain confidence, which is a big plus, get physical skills, flexability and the ability to think for themselves." And you don't have to be a boy to pack a mean punch. "Have of the students we have here are girls," he said.
  "The really enjoy it and actually concentrate a lot more than the boys do,"
