Hi, and welcome to the index of my web site.
This has been an ongoing project for about 4 years now, much of it hard work.  Yet it is joyious as well, for along the way I have reunited with many cousins I had lost touch with, and met many cousins who I never knew existed.
These pages will cross over in both my paternal and maternal lines.  If you have family or lines located in or near Jackson County, Georgia, or near both Knox and Blount County, Tennessee, it is fairly likely that we can perhaps link somewhere. My e mail address is on the bottom of every page, along with the addresses of several people who have sent me information.  If you find along the way that our families link somehow, please get in touch and I will be sure you receive credit for the information you provide.  Or if you want more information, feel free to write as well.
Please don't take my genealogy files and post them without giving me credit.  This has happened in the past.  True, some of this was pretty much posted before I began my quest, but a lot of it is the result of hard work by several cousins and myself.  I have uncovered much of  what has been misquoted in several books, a result of several generations of covering up.  It is my goal to instill pride and dissolve cover ups and lies.
Please note that due to others claiming this research as their own, that all of these files are now copyrighted.  To include any of this work in your own public pages, or to include as part of a book you must ask and receive permission and include credit as due.  In the use of any pictures provided by cousins permission must be acquired from them as well.  If you are kin and desire a picture, please let me know. I will see to it that you receive one.
Also, anyone that can or desires to link anywhere in my database, please let me know and we can join links.
This site is under construction, and it always will be as genealogy never ends.
I thank you for your visit and I invite you to return soon.
Thanks, Elizabeth

Update: June 2005:  With much regret, I have decided to no longer share my index with
Yearoutcentral. My cousin's site has grown so much that the surf script I use will not work.  We will still link internally, and I have to say that with all the new names she has added that if you link directly or indirectly to any yearout's, the site is a "must see"
If you notice any links that send you to the wrong page, please write and let me know.

I have been very fortunate to locate several great lookup resources.  One being Francis Gill who is a big help in locating hard to find records prior to 1900.  There is a very  modest charge to copy the record and have it sent.

Francis Gill
Phillip Gowan is an excellent resource for Tennessee Death records.  He has records 1908-1912 & 1914-1953.  The cost if you have the exact dates is extremely reasonable.  If you cannot locate those elusive records, drop him a line.

My Cemetery Photo's
A new hobby that helps others who may be searching for Gravesites of kin.  I travel rather extensivly and have photo's from quite a few areas, as well as complete transcriptions for smaller cemeteries.  My local area cemeteries currently are Zion Baptist located in Shelby, NC & Mountain Rest located here in Kings Mountain, NC.
I have recently written a fiction novel based loosely on the research found here.
The name of my appalachian FICTION novel is Edney, written under the pen name of Clara Olmstead.
