Welcome to Chez Patsie's

My bedroom door at home in IF

"Greetings!"

Bonjour, mes amis. Welcome. My son and others tell me my pages are very graphics intensive. Oh well--I like them! This is just a warning for those who don't care about such things... The picture above I painted on my bedroom door when I was 17 years old because the door was the largest 'canvas' available to me outside of the classroom! This is NOT a self-portrait! My parents had left it. Nice of them, huh?

This version ('Patsie') of my nickname came from a beloved former piano instructor - there were so many of us "Pats" in those days that I adopted it and have kept it.
Both my son, Jamison, and I were in the Ethnic Minority program at and graduated in June of 1997. I continued on at the University of Utah and graduated in May of 1999 with a degree in Sociology and with a certificate in Gerontology--people will always be my focus in life... That was a happy day for me everyone! As a (choke) "non-traditional" student, I find it more important than ever to get a good education and I sincerely believe it is never too late to try. A satisfactory educational experience can also foster positive feelings about oneself and outlooks on life which far outweigh any potential financial gain from the sheepskin--just do not give up. I MADE IT!

This interest in web pages began with a college internet course and these pages have slowly evolved since then. Yes, this has been fun! Becoming more comfortable with computers in general and familiarizing myself with the Internet has always been my goal in addition to making me more valuable as an employee, wherever that may be. This has been such an interesting, sometimes frustrating, but entirely rewarding experience for me. It is so nice to be able to share this with my son, also.

Doing these pages, to me, is like painting. As one watches how different people have used the computer to express themselves one can really be convinced about the creative value in computers in addition to the access to information they provide. What a wonderful tool. Let us not abuse it.
