Brittany Zabel

Brittany is Jill's sister and the person she calls when she needs a good laugh.  They have known each other since Brittany made her grand entrance into the world. Like Jill, Brittany is from Orlando, Florida.

Brittany is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida and is planning to study Communications and International Relations (or something like that).  She is learning Korean and speaks German, Spanish, Cat and a little bit of English.
Cody Pierce

Cody is Daniel's favorite (and only) younger brother.  While they were growing up in Tennessee, Cody spent years trying to convince Daniel to play sports with him, but Daniel preferred to force Cody to play school, though he often had to send him to the principal.

Nowadays Cody is a gifted musician and a member of the Ezekiel 3:18 Band.  He plays trombone, guitar and piano.  He is also obsessed with the Tennessee Volunteers.  Cody is a student at the University of Arkansas at Monticello,  studying Music Education.
Corrie Bondar

Corrie and Jill met during a month-long immersion program in Germany in summer 2001.  One afternoon after watching Pearl Harbor in German, they realized they had an incredible amount in common.  They have been close friends and e-mail pals ever since.

Corrie is originally from Galesburg, Illinois.  After getting her  Master's degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana, Corrie moved to Houston to be with her husband Farshid.  Now she works as a hydraulic engineer.
Gregory Zabel

Greg is the best brother a girl could have.  Jill remembers the day he was born like it was yesterday, and he has been awesome ever since.  He is a high school student in Dr. Phillips High School's Center for International Studies and is a member of marching band.

Greg plays the guitar, piano, trumpet, and Civilization III.  Sometimes he beats Jill at chess and Trivial Pursuit (but don't tell Georgetown).
Jennifer Blake

Jill and Jennifer lived on the same hall during their freshman year at Vanderbilt.  After that, they both lived in McTyeire International House on the German hall.  Jennifer studied Special Education, Astronomy and German at Vanderbilt.  She is also partially responsible for Daniel and Jill meeting each other and going out.

Jennifer is originally from Fayetteville, Georgia.  She now resides in Houston, where she is an amazing special education teacher.
Jim Abell

Daniel and Jim met during their freshman year at Vanderbilt.  They both lived on the Spanish Hall in McTyeire International House.

Jim is from Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Jim studied Economics and Political Science.  He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School, but he is NOT planning on being a medical malpractice lawyer.
Kristy Zabel

Kristy is Jill's younger sister, although she is way taller and has better hair.  They played beach, camp, dance party, travel agent, school, restaurant, and reporter as they were growing up in Orlando.

Kristy is studying Elementary Education at the University of Central Florida.  In addition to being Jill's personal editor, Kristy's career aspiration is to be the best (and most fashionable) teacher at Ridgewood Park Elementary School, where all the Zabel kids completed their primary education.
Naved Mahmud

Daniel and Naved met in college and were roommates.  They spent many hours debating the utility of guano, discussing Dolly Parton and the fourth dimension, and hosting their famous Oscar parties.

Naved is from Dhaka, Bangladesh.  He majored in Economics and Physics at Vanderbilt and is now an Astrophysics graduate student at Rice University.
Prabhani Atukorale

Prabhani and Jill lived on the same freshman hall at Vanderbilt. The two became fast friends after a chance laundry room encounter that led to them attending a Diwali show and a hockey game the same night.  They spent many a weekend exploring ethnic restaurants in Nashville and discussing politics and the meaning of life into the wee hours of the morning.

Prabhani is from Colombo, Sri Lanka.  She loves her homeland, vacations, and reading fiction (ah, real books!).  After getting her graduate studies at MIT, she hopes to work in the Land of the Most Beautiful Palm Trees.
Stephen Gilliand

Stephen befriended Jill and Daniel separately in college.  Daniel lived across the hall from Stephen in his freshman dorm, while Jill met him at church.  Stephen enjoys helping people and thinking.  He is a connoisseur of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Originally from Alabama, Stepehen majored in Classics and Philosophy at Vanderbilt.  After graduation, he moved to DC to enjoy Jill's company and help recovering substance abusers through the Samaritan Inns Program.  He holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Catholic University and works with children in DC's foster care system..
