Project Vong

The creation of a warrior from beyond a galaxy far, far away...

This is where I answer all your burning questions

Are you insane?
~~~Yesss~~ But only on every other Thursday.
How long did it take you do make the costume?
About a year. I didn't punch a clock as I worked on it so I can't give you exact hours.
How much did it cost?
Less than you'd think, and more than I was hoping for. I'm still compiling receipts, so I'll get back to you on this one.
Can you make me one?
No. I've moved on. I've got other projects to do, a girlfriend to entertain, a demanding job to work, and a life to live. Sorry.
Will you sell it to me?
No! It's Mine! My Precioussss. Besides it wouldn't fit you.
Your website isn't as detailed as I hoped it would be. I'm having trouble making my own costume (since you won't make one for me or sell it to me).
Well, that's not a question is it? You're lucky this isn't Jeopardy. Much of Project Vong was developed using other people's tutorials. I've tried to capture the overall construction process here. If you are looking for more detailed answers to Vong specific construction questions don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. For all other questions see my references page as it has links to the sites I used. As time goes on I may be inclined to flesh out the site a bit more, but I don't see that happening just yet.
Wow! That last answer was very detailed and articulate.
Again not a question, but thank you.
I want to know more about you, the man behind the mask. What can you tell me?
Name, Rank, Serial number. Just kidding. I'm a 26 year old Electrical Engineering Technology Major working for the US Army in Logistics. I live in New Jersey. My name's Dave.
Jersey? What exit?
Ha ha, very funny. 105...Now you tell me smart ass, Parkway or Turnpike?
I was wondering why you chose to to model your Yuuzhan Vong armor (and head) after the Japanese Book covers as opposed to the US ones?
Nice attention to detail. I found that the US covers were too stylized for my taste. The Japanese covers were much more photo realistic (as they tend to be) and that helped me solidify the end product better. They just looked nicer too. It's my costume and I'll do what I want.
Which New Jedi Order book is your favorite?
Traitor. Without a doubt. Matt Stover wove an amazing tale in that book. And if you've read Dante's Inferno that makes it all the much better.
Do you like the Prequels?
Yes and no. Yes, in the fact that they are shaping themselves nicely into a coherent trilogy. No, because they are not quite what I imagined them to be. But that's not my call is it? They belong to Lucas, and as a writer, artist, and creator myself I have to respect that he has his own vision. (His vision may be of a Jamaican accented lizard buffoon, but it's all his).
Not a Jar-Jar fan huh?
Lucas redeemed Jar-Jar Binks in my eyes in Attack of the Clones. Jar-Jar's naivete and ability to be easily manipulated lead to the first step in creating the Empire. Jar-Jar became a lesson: Power corrupts, but absolute power is only given to leaders by stupid morons thinking they're doing the right thing.
Did I read correctly before, it says you have a girlfriend? How is that possible?
All things are possible grasshopper. A good personality helps. So does a sweet ass ride. I'm even a nice guy. Figure that out. I mean how do you think I got her?
Jedi Mind trick?
This is not the answer you're looking for. Move along.
