This is me!

ME IN A NUTSHELL:

Well, let's see - I am currently not working due to a bad knee.  I have worked for GE for over 20 years! I met my hubby, Manuel there. He has been with them for over 30 years!  We have two children who are mostly grown, but still sometimes depend on dear old Mom and Dad. We are the proud grandparents of Shelby Lee, born on June 3, 1998; Savannah Michelle, born on March 27, 1999 and Korina Dawn, born on July 23, 1996.  Update Jan 2006 - My knee never fully recovered and I have since taken disability retirement from GE.  I also had a knee replacement done on my left knee in August 2004.  On April 17, 2003, my life was blessed with the birth of my first grandson, Dylan Lee Cordell. On February 4th, 2004, my sweet Savannah was called home by Our Father.  You can learn more by checking out the page dedicated to her memory.

Biggest thing about me that most surprises other people is that I write stories and do ceramics.  I have over 1000 molds and 4 kilns!   If I could meet anybody in history I would love to meet John Denver, Janis Joplin Abe Lincoln and also John Lennon. My biggest hero, first of all, my Dad and then John Denver. They both helped to mold my life into what I am today.

WHAT I LOOK FOR IN OTHER PEOPLE:
Honesty, is a BIG trait. If a person is honest, not only to me, but to themselves that is a big plus. I love to have fun with my friends, go to the movies, flea markets, anything to do with John Denver. I have many friends who I met because Of J.D., they are more like sisters and brothers rather than friends. We share a common love for John, his music and his causes.  My idea of a great vacation is taking a bus load of my friends to Colorado!  We would go to Aspen and check out the NEW John Denver Sanctuary then go to Maroon Bells, sit play guitars and sing John's music. Then have a campfire! But we promise to be careful! We would build us a town somewhere called Henry's Corner. Only true J.D. friends would live there.
THINGS I LIKE:
Favorite book(s) is Trail Of The Spanish Bit Series.  They are wonderful!  They are written by Don Coldsmith.  It is a series about Native Americans, another favorite topic of mine.  Braveheart is my all time favorite movie. Love Mel in a kilt! LOL!  Yum!! I think Spring is my favorite season, everything is renewing itself and life goes on. Morning sunrises and evening sunsets are my favorite times of day. My favorite place to hang out is the mountains.  In 2001, I got bit by a bug...the racing bug that is!  I am officially a HUGE fan of NASCAR racing and have been to several races.
THINGS I DON'T LIKE:
I don't like spiteful people. They are a turn off for me. I never want to hurt anyone and I go out of my way to try not to. Liars and dishonesty.  People who will lie to you and call you their friend disgust me. People who think they are better than you are. The Creator made us all the same, equal, not apart from each other. It's a you AND me world I want to live in and bring up my family in. Not a you OR me world. I can't stand raw oysters! YUCK! Or sushi. I like my food cooked (except for veggies and fruits) well done!
