Have you ever noticed crickets in the day?

Young-su Kang

Crickets were, are, and will be a part of my life. Before I was born, they have created attractive sounds continuously. Even before the birth of my grandfather or the humanoids in the ston age, crickets existed. In every place where I went, did the crickets surprise, amuse or even irritate me.

Not until I was the 2ne grade in elementary school, did I have few chances to make contacts with crickets. It was the second summer vacation as a pupil that I had sufficient chances to learn facts other than the enchanting sounds of crickets. I "hunted" insects for my homework and sometimes for an amusement. Most of harvests were crickets which made me puzzle the difference of crickets and grasshoppers for quite a long time. Nowadays, I do feel sorry for those unusual musicians that were killed by my ignorance and indifference.

Crickets indeed left many reminiscences that can't be obtained from others. Crickets are, however, troublemakers, too. If those little monsters should live in my house, I would dare to invest lots of money on preventing crickets from performing music in my room.

Crickets are surely creature that can't be loved more than now. Beautiful tempting sounds made in night by crickets really have a great influence on people. But if cockroaches live near where I live, I wouldn't mind stepping on them.
