Tuesday,
October 16, 2001 Steve
Yenisch scored his first win in YGRL Season 2 competition Sunday night at Richmond.
Yenisch used a late race restart as an opportunity to pass leader Travis Burgess.
Burgess was shuffled back a ways, but managed to drive back up to 2nd when the checkered
flag flew. Alan Johnson, fresh off his win at Texas, had an impressive 3rd place
finish. David Hickman, Michigan's winner, finished 4th, with Andrew Pietranek
finishing 5th.
YGRL heads to the superspeedway in Long Pond, PA
this weekend for its inaugural visit to Pocono Raceway. Burgess remains in the
points lead, but by just 7 points of Yenisch. Closely following is Alan Johnson just
12 points behind in 3rd.

92 laps, with John Gorlinsky third, Steve Yenisch 4th, and Rick Sorrell 5th. Points
leader Travis Burgess was involved in a mind boggling accident in Turn 3 as the race
winded down.
YGRL visit the short track under the lights at
Richmond for 140 laps of fender-banging action. Qualifying is set to begin shortly
after 8:00 PM EST.
