Beaver basketball All-Conference
Three Glen Rose basketball players have been named to the 5AA South All Conference teams. Brynn Murphree a senior forward was the lone selection from the Lady Beavers. Murphree led the team in scoring this season.

Josh Scott and Neil Smart were the two selections made from the senior boys team. Scott led the team in scoring and shot nearly 50% from beyond the three point line this season. Smart was a three year starter at point guard and was the floor general for the Beavers.

Beavers just missed
On Tuesday night in Cutter, Glen Rose and Mountain Pine would meet for the third time this season, this time in the 5AA South District Tournament.  Glen Rose was the #6 seed, while Mountain Pine was the #7.  The close rankings of the two were sure to make for a great game, and it did.

The game went back and forth all night long, and there seemed like there might never be a clear winner until late in the game, Mountain Pine stepped it up, and took control, and eventually the two point victory.  45-43, ending the Beavers season.

Lady Beavers fall short
The Lady Beavers were back in Cutter on Monday night to play in the opening round on the 5AA South District Tournament.  The first game of the night featured the Lady Beavers and the Lady Miners from Bauxite.  In a tight game, Bauxite finally started to pull away in the second quarter.  It looked like the Lady Beavers were headed down the same path as they had been all year long.  But they fought their way back into the game pulling in to within 3 points with 2 minutes left in the game.  Bauxite finally got over the hump, though, and took advantage of some turnovers late and ended the Lady Beavers season.

Regular season ends on down note
The regular season ended just as a minor snow storm swept through the state on Tuesday.  The games started a half an hour early, with the boys playing first as it had implications on the District Tournament. More

Down week at the Rose
The next to last week of the regular season wasn't a very good one for the Beavers.  Both the senior girls and senior boys fell on hard times this week, and go into the final game of the regular season hoping to gain some more momentum going into the conference tournament.  More

Mixed week for the Beavers
Homecoming was on Tuesday night, with Magnet Cove travelling the short distance to Glen Rose for the games.  Then on Thursday night, the Beavers traveled to Mountain Pine as the 5AA South Season winds down. More

Glen Rose stumbles at Bauxite
On Friday night in Bauxite, the Glen Rose Beavers were looking to go 2-0 on the week after defeating Jessieville on Tuesday.  But it wasn't to be.  After deafeting Bauxite earlier in the year by 8 points, and defeating Jessieville earlier in the week, this was Glen Rose's game to lose.  Bauxite out-rebounded the Beavers, and basically won the game off of hustle points.  The Beavers fall to 6-11 overall, and 3-6 in the conference with the 46-39 loss.

The Lady Beavers continue to struggle with another loss on the road.  They Lady Beavers are winless in conference play.  The Jr. Lady Beavers continue to play well after losing Thursday night in the Glen Rose Jr. High Tournament, they rebounded and handily defeated the opponents from Bauxite.
