CHRISTOPHER PAOLINI 18-year-old fantasy master!

Born November 17th, 1983, Christopher Paolini grew up at the base of the Beartooth Mountains in Paridise Valley, Montana. He started penning the first book in a trilogy when he was 15. He had just received his GED. He had been homeschooled his whole life and had never set foot in a school. Until, at 18, he finished that novel, Eragon, and his family self-published it with his parent's publishing company  Paolini International. Shortly after a series of amazing turns, Christopher had a million dollar book deal with Knopf and was doing a 16-city US book tour and a tour of Britain for the UK release! Eragon spent 24 weeks on the bestsellers list and, in January 2004, Eragon hit #1 on the Children's Bestseller List, ousting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to #2. Now 22, the second book in Paolini's Inheritance Trilogy, Eldest, hit stores this past summer. Christopher still lives in Montana with his parents, his sister Angela, their cat Otis, and their dog Annie.

Christopher is an incredibly dedicated author when it comes to do-it-yourself marketing. He toured 130 western schools with his self-published book dressed in a red swordsman's shirt, black pantaloons and lace-up boots! A movie by Fox 2000 for Eragon will hit theaters Christmas 2006! It stars Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, and newcomer 17-year-old Edward Speleers in the title role! Watch for EMPIRE, the final chapter in the Inheritance Saga, due out 2008! Did you know?: It took Christopher a year to finish the first draft of Eragon and another year to edit it! Still, for the Knopf 2003 edition of Eragon, more than 20,000 words were edited from the book!
