At about 4 weeks his/her pin feathers are just starting to show and you can see a little bit of color.
He is a very big and beautiful baby at 4 weeks old!
Here is a picture of my baby's parents. They are also very beautiful birds. The breeder who I am getting my alexandrine from are very nice and have been a really good help. If you are intrested in buying an alexandrine I highly recommend them.
This is one of my favorite pictures, he/she looks so cute in this photo!

He has just been handfeed in this picture. Also notice the growth in feathers.
"...what's that? It's very shiny and pretty; let me take a look at that..."
My baby is already reserved and will be picked up when fully weaned and fledge. I recommend NOT to buy an unweaned baby unless you are an experinced handfeeder and know what you are doing!
Notice the growth in feathers
On 3/30 my baby has grown! His feathers are growing in a lot, and you can see the dark purple-red patch on the wings.
dark purple-red patch
Right now he takes 30 - 40 cc of formula 4 times a day. He is really growing and getting really big. It will be at least 2 - 4 weeks untill he will be ready to come home.
On April 7, my alexandrine in looking beautiful! If it is a boy is name will be Bamboo, and if it is a girl her name will Sophia.
Bamboo (thats the name until I get the DNA results back) should be ready to come on April the 26th. I can't wait and I am counting down the days until my baby comes home.
On April the 7, bamboo is getting his toenail clips for DNA sexing. The blood that is drawn from the clipping will be use to determine the sex of the bird.

Clipping the toenails or wings of any bird can be a dangerous thing if you do not know what you are doing, are you feel uncomfortable doing it. Leave it to a professional if you think you can’t do it properly and safely.

***NOTE***
I got the test results back on 4/10/03, and my alexandrine is a... Boy!!!
So his name is official
Bamboo.
A look at the development of my alexandrine from a baby to a beautiful grown parrot
Birth Date: 2. 23. 03.
On April the 12, on a nice sunny day in Florida, Bamboo sits at the bottom of a cage eating some Cheerios. He is still being handfeed but should be completely weaned and ready to come home by the 26th of April.
On April the 21, Bamboo  sits in his cage soaking up the sunlight on a nice, early Monday. He will be ready to come home this week on Saturday the 26.
This is Bamboo on the 25, also it is his last day in Flordia
Bamboo has come along way and has grow into a beautiful bird. I can't wait until I can share my life with this beautiful parrot.
