Step 3 - Use The Proxomitron.
Step 3 - Use The Proxomitron.

First, download The Proxomitron and run it from your Run menu. Allow it to install. You also may wish to download my default configuration file here. You will have to save under the name DEFAULT.CFG or rename it to that, because, again, Geocities only allows certain file names. So, right click this link, select Save Target As or whatever you need to do to download a file, and place it in the directory or folder where Proxomitron installed itself. (Make sure, in the box below the filename, called Files of Type or something, to select All Files. You can use Windows' Find feature if you don't know where Proxomitron is located; simply click Start, point to Find, then select Files or Folders, and in the named box enter proxomitron.exe. Make a note of where it is located.) If your browser asks if you want to overwrite an existing file, click Yes.
Anyway, all you need to do now is set your browser up to use it:

4. Click the Advanced button.

You can also set up Proxomitron to filter Secure (SSL) traffic. This gives you some defense against unscrupulous scripts embedded in encrypted webpages. For additional instructions on how to configure Proxomitron to use SSL, click here. Due to export restrictions on the external software required, this only applies to users within the United States, its territories, and other G-8 nations.
