Miniature Donkeys

I hope you enjoy your visit to my web site. Please check back often to see the new info that I will be adding. Here you will find pictures of my donkeys, of course, as well as photos of friends, their longears, even a Longhorn or two! .

If you have any questions or comments feel free to email me.

I have been raising miniature donkeys here in Central Illinois for about 8 years now and have really fallen in love with them. I started out with just one little jack and now have a a herd of 35. Spotteds, chocolates and of course the beautiful gray duns. Besides donkeys, I have 2 Miniature Schnauzers and my partner and I farm full time with a bulldozing business on the side. Below is a picture of the little jack that started all this 'donkey business'! He is also at the far left in the photo at the top of this page.

Donkeys are very intelligent animals and can be taught to do a number of things. Their most endearing quality, in my opinion, is their love for people, from the very young to the very old. Donkeys have even been used to cheer up the elderly in nursing homes.

In the breeding program, here at Copperas Creek Farm, I have three major goals:

  1. Breeding for size and correct conformation to continue and preserve the unique qualities of these miniature donkeys (see http://www.copperascreek.com)

  2. To provide healthy and sound donkeys to people who want to experience the special love these animals have to offer, and

  3. To continue to promote these animals for their wonderful qualities as pets and companions
