Here's one from Manuel Z -0n- Fishing, sent June

Seeker’s Guide Service
I was out at Calaveras lake today and fishing with my Dad at his (USUAL SPOT) "The
Crappie wall" We got there at about 6:30am and set out some lines with Crawfish (For
Redfish) a couple lines with either Perch or Tilapia 2" to 3" in length (For
Reds or Big Catfish), And we caught nothing, But to pass the time we were fishing with
Chicken Livers...Catfish and 15-17" Stripers kept us busy! HERES THE (NEW TRICK!) For
some reason I tied on a 2Oz white/yellow Striper Jig to my (BIG) 10' rod and started
chunking and winding it. In a very short time all hell broke loose, within 20-30 minutes
I'd landed 2 Redfish weighing 12 and 15 Lbs, Just my luck there was a GUIDE sitting in the
boat next to me just passing time waiting for his customers to call him in...And of course
he announced over the radio to everyone what I caught and how I caught them, about 20
minutes after the guide left, he returned with 4 Fishermen and crowded us with a bunch of
novice fishermen, Of course I was none too pleased with this but hey, It's a public
lake...So I kept my comments to myself...Aaaaanyway... About an hour or two later the
guide, His fishermen and about 7, 12 plus pound Redfish left my spot.... So there you have
it (I) just announced it to you so you can announce it to your Web sites visitors...
STRIPER JIGS ARE TEARING UP THE REDFISH.....Actually...ANYTHING WHITE and/or FLASHY will
work on them too.
Tight lines to ya!
Fred's fishing report was rather sparse, but funny, and it read - "I didn't catch any
winners, but I once ate 32 shrimp! "
Thanks for that one Fred, I'm sure we all could use a bit of humor when the fishing is
slow.
